Exhibition series - 3/3

The ballet dancer.

Chilly morning set the water on fire as the sun rose and made everything fiery golden. It was such a misrepresentation how cold it was that day. I was sitting on the cold rocks, surrounded by fog. As it slowly cleared, it revealed these beautiful Flamingos.

Finding food, fighting, playing around, in general having fun in the morning. One such exchange led to this one individual taking off running. There's something amazing about how they take off and I was lucky enough to not only see that, but capture the process.

It felt like a bird running on a river of lava. Such a beautiful sight.

Exhibition series - 2/3

Stuck in a thunderstorm in NYC

It was my 3rd consecutive day going to the exchange place to get a picture of the New York skyline in sunset colours. It was cloudy that day as well. There were no sunset colours. Disheartened, I was walking along the riverfront towards the train station to catch the train back.

Suddenly, the quiet of the night broke into a deafening thunderstorm. I ran to seek shelter, hiding my camera in my somewhat water resistant jacket. As the rain subsided a bit, I went towards the skyline, realising I might get this once in a lifetime shot of the New York skyline in a thunderstorm. I didn't have a tripod so I balanced my camera on the safety rail, still holding on to the strap, firing away 1 second exposures. And in a very short time, I was awarded this image to remember for life. Pain turned to pleasure, frustration turned into fascination. I travelled 1 and half hour back to where I was staying, soaking wet, smiling inside.

Exhibition series 1/3

Title : Three musketeers

Sitting on the ground, in a bit of mud, waiting patiently for them to come close. The more we stayed still, the closer they got and I got this image when they were completely focusing on the meal. This was one of the closest encounters I have had with these beautiful birds and I was awestruck by their beauty.

The colours, the movement, the elegance, unmatched. Enjoy the beautiful Flamingos.

What a night it was. Went to see the meteors and nature decided to surprise me with the northern lights. The meteor shower was super fun, thanks to @minleeing and @sami_cav and their meteor naming shenanigans. On top of that, it decided to give us an amazing show for the night. Still can't get over it.

The sheer panic I had can be seen from the initial blurred images. While waiting for the meteors during the meteor shower, nature decided to give me a show. This huge red pillar showed up in the sky. I froze for a moment and then ran to my camera which was aimed at the Milky way. Pulled it, repositioned it and then I broke down crying on the sandy floor.

This was what nature planned for me. This was mother nature telling me "it's going to be alright". This gave me all the hope and courage I needed at that moment.

Moon. Venus. Liberty. I felt so lucky being there at sunset. As the sun went down, a sliver of the moon appeared and along came a bright shining Venus. Such a beautiful sight, along with amazing company. Can't get enough of this city.
