Two young women from a small village discuss the recent, mysterious vanishing of Leela. Is there any truth in the rumors about her death? Ennui and despair become characters of their own in Tanmay Chowdhary's "Leela," which played multiple festivals, including International Film Festival Rotterdam @iffr, before making its way to the Staff Picks channel.

You'll find this unsettlingly quiet short at the link in bio.

Two years.

It’s strange how time folds in on itself. Some days it feels like I was only just meeting Ashoklata for the first time. Other days, it feels like she’s always been a part of me.

Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper wasn’t just my first lead.. it was the beginning of a different chapter of my life. A role that asked so much of me, trusted me with so much and gave me more than I could have imagined.

There are people who believed in me before I fully believed in myself. There is a team that built this world with so much love and care. And there are all of you who watched, wrote, remembered, and continue to stop me to talk about Ashoklata even today. I carry that with immense gratitude.

Two years later, I still find pieces of her within me.

Always grateful.

The New York Indian Film festival @nyindianfilmfest brought me to New York but what I’m taking back with me are the incredible people, the best conversations and so much love!!

Our little independent short film, The First Bite found it’s space and audience and our hard work was met with connections, laughs, tears and appreciation.

Thank you to everyone who came, watched our film and gave us love.

So happy that I got to share this experience with my director @rayofdope and my cinematographer @arindamdebnath_
Walking the red carpet together was incredibly special. Missed you @tanmaydhanania

Still processing it all 🩷🩷🫰

She often sleepwalks, dusk to dawn, carrying bougainvillea in her old leather bag, that needs the early morning river to bloom, so that she can sleepwalk another night, with lilies and tulips.
