May 22, 2026, I got my ‘Richmond’ graduation 🎓

My college journey has been nothing short of unconventional..

I wanted my grad photos to reflect me..
to reflect my story..
to show How I Grew Up

Raised on love but I live in survival mode. Battling between stability and homelessness… financial comfort and struggle… high aspirations and suicidal thoughts… 8 long, hard years…. I could have a PhD by now 😂 I almost gave up more times than I can count on both hands, but God had a different plan for me. At 25, I had the epiphany that I can STILL get my degrees before 30.. I can STILL bring kids into this world who have a college educated mother.. I can STILL defy the odds that have been placed on me by the world..

3416 Wall Ave was filled with pure love… From my greatmama, to my aunties, my cousins, my godparents, my granny, and last but never least my mom… Thank you. If it wasn’t for the prayers spoke into my life before I even dotted this earth, I would be nothing. To my mom specifically: I would not have finished if it weren’t for you.. and you know this! Thank you for instilling Philippians 4:13 in me, because it has brought me through more than you know. (honorable mention 267 S. 35th St & 3424 Wall Ave , we owned PROPERTY on our block, never was from apartments)

To MLK Jr. Elementary School, thank you… Every single thing I learned, every thing I value, and all the motivation I have within myself that I can succeed in this life came from you.. Middle school taught me nothing… My high school counselor literally said, “Oh, you actually want to go to college?”

They say foundation starts at home, so it’s only right I showed y’all mine… I moved out of WCCUSD in 6th grade, and all I could ever think about was coming back.. I can now PROUDLY say, I have completed my ‘Richmond Chapter’ — on my own terms.

8 years… 3 Associates Degrees… It took me way too long so you know I had to triple it 📚 I hope you enjoyed taking a glimpse into my story, and a small look into my life… Guess what? We just getting started 😝
