Thesis dump, in celebration of completing it 1.5 years ago.

This thesis was more than research.
It was personal. A refusal to let Black Muslim women be reduced to just resilience. We’ve carried more than we should ever have had to. And still, we deserve softness, safety, support, empowerment, rest and QUALITY CARE.

It speaks to the need for cultural safety, not just cultural competency, by addressing power, privilege, faith and systemic harm in care. Because the truth is, therapy that’s free isn’t always therapy that’s safe. When care exploits our stories, or weaponizes our identities for funding, optics, or institutional gain, the real cost is paid by those most in need of healing.

This work centered our stories in a field that too often overlooks us. Thank you to the women who were vulnerable enough to share theirs.

And my work here is only just the beginning. Alhamdulillah🖤
