Here, a handshake symbolizes unity, hope, and a shared future. In Nakivale refugees settlement, football breaks down borders.

Young people from different nationalities meet, respect one another, and play together.

Because through football, we build more than a team: we build a community. taken in Nakivale Refugee Settlement by @nakifootball

As the year comes to a close, our Team B (U19) reflects on a season driven by youth empowerment, social inclusion, and community development.

Operating in the Nakivale Refugee Camp, Uganda, football serves as a powerful tool for development and social cohesion.

Through structured sport activities, our refugee youth strengthen life skills, leadership, discipline, and resilience, contributing to their personal development and long-term social integration. Football provides a protective environment where young people can express themselves, build confidence, and pursue their aspirations. taken in (UNHCR/OPM) Nakivale Refugee Settlement by @nakifootball

We are thrilled to share that our coach, Jonathan, has successfully completed the FUFA Beginner’s Coaching Course, organized by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in partnership with @we.are.alight

This achievement aligns perfectly with our mission to use football as a tool for driving positive change among refugee teenagers and youth. It also brings us a step closer to our vision: a future where refugee youth are educated, their football dreams realized, and communities socially connected.

Together, we are building not just better players, but stronger, united communities through the power of football. by @nakifootball

Football is not only a matter of playing, it’s also about leadership. In the soccer’s field, the captain is the leader. Not the boss. This attribution allow him to develop communication’s skill, problem solving, leadership, etc.

That why our mission is to use football as an activity to drive positive change among refugee teenagers and youths. taken in (UNHCR/OPM) Nakivale Refugee Settlement by @nakifootball
