Proud moment with my people 🫶🏿 The Long Island University Post inaugural Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) class. 🩺✨ In a workforce where only ~3.7% of practicing physical therapists are Black, and only ~6% of U.S. physicians are Black, representation is still not the norm it’s the exception. In our cohort of 28 students, 8 of us are Black, that’s 28.6%, which is far above the national DPT enrollment average of ~6.1% Black students. During Black History Month, I’m reminded: we’re not just studying history we’re becoming it, in our own way. 🖤✊🏾 #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackDPT #FuturePT #RepresentationMatters #LIUPost DPTStudent BlackHealthcareProfessionals PhysicalTherapy by @naly21allthat
