What happened in Basra Governorate – Iraq,
on New Year’s Eve 2025,
is tragic, painful, and must never be ignored.

This is not freedom.
This is not democracy.
It is a brutal assault on women and girls,
committed by savage individuals
who do not represent the Iraqi people,
and do not represent Basra.

They are people without morals, without mercy,
their actions are filthy, their deeds a disgrace.

The people of Basra, however,
are kind, honorable, brave, and great.
Among them are true men and dignified women,
people who reject injustice and refuse silence.

Silence in the face of such crimes
is another crime.
The honorable must not remain quiet
while cruelty is committed in their name.

We welcome a new year with heavy hearts,
celebrating while carrying sorrow within us.
We wish everyone goodness,
happiness,
and moments of joy that feel like peace.

And I wish for my country,
Iraq — oppressed, wounded, attacked —
that the coming year will be a new beginning,
free from militias,
free from sectarianism,
free from fear.

May Iraq finally live in peace
and build one shared future for all its people. by @namalband

The singer’s struggle during recording is real!
One word slips away, another twists your tongue,
and your breath suddenly decides to take a break 😂
You repeat the line ten times,
and every time it sounds completely different.
The hard words challenge you, the melody judges you silently,
and in the end… a funny mistake steals the show!
Recording isn’t just singing — it’s a musical battle with a comedic twist 🎵😄

This song is a message to everyone who chooses to fight Us over things that have nothing to do with life and nothing to do with art.
There are, in truth, people who do not understand—people who are irrelevant to the journey itself.
Still, we will continue through music, all the way to the end.
To be crossed by us, or even wounded by us, is a privilege.

It is a great honor for us that the bassist of the legendary band Lamb of God was genuinely astonished while listening to the Namalband’s vocalist. by @namalband
