To my Nicky:
Every moment with you is my absolute favorite. You made me a mommy and that truly is the best and only gift I need today. I know that these snuggles will one day fade and that 1 day buzz lightyear will not be running around killing zurg and chasing the huskies but I hope you never lose your sense of play, your silly, and your curiosity. I hope that no matter what age you are you always find the good in this world and that you love with all your heart. I hope that you always know how deeply I love you and that my arms always feel like home.

If mothers day brings up a lot of feelings for you, know that you are not alone. Motherhood is by far the hardest job I have. I'd like to believe that I'm doing the best I can as a mom but the truth is I have no idea what I'm doing and there's no such thing as "getting it right". I think the real truth is that there are moments where you doubt everything you're doing and then there's moments where you know you made a difference.

There's a lot of moments we don't normalize talking about as women that we should:

1. It's ok to still have PTSD from your c section or your natural labor. It's the most intense thing we do as women. I have flashbacks all the time!
2. It's ok if you don't want kids. It doesn't make you wrong, your life just looks different than mine and that's ok!
3. It's ok if you miss your old self before your kids, both the physical body and the emotional one. You're learning to become a new person while never having a moment for yourself.
4. It's ok if your kid has a tantrum in public; this is actually incredibly normal due to brain development milestones
5. It's ok if you're so exhausted that you cry.
6. It's ok if what works for your family doesn't work for the next family
7. It's ok if you can't afford the $2k bday party that their friend is having.
8. It's ok if you want to break family traditions and start your own. You have to do what works for you.
9. Don't ever judge another mom, you're not in their shoes, you don't get to write their story

For every woman who has a child, has lost a child, or is trying to have a child I wish you a wonderful mother's day. You are not alone. โค๏ธ by @namastedoingyoga

Ok decade trend had to hop on this one!

2016 was a year that changed me for the better. My dad was diagnosed with Huntingtons disease and was told that yoga and movement and fitness could help prolong his symptoms. In that same year I became both a yoga and barre instructor. I met some of the greatest people along the way and I learned a lot about who I wanted to be and the space I wanted to create for others. A space that allows anyone that walks into my class to feel heard, to feel acknowledged, and most importantly to feel loved for everything that they are with 0 judgements. I wanted to create a space that felt safe because my dad did that for me my entire life.

Whether you take my yoga classes now, or did in the past, or if you take my rumble classes now I hope that you know that this space we take up together takes up some of the most valuable space in my heart forever and always.

Thank you for being part of the journey. Namaste ๐Ÿ™ by @namastedoingyoga
