After years in hospitality and travel, I’ve learned that the best journeys rarely happen by accident.
A beautiful lodge is easy to find. So is a spectacular destination.
The real work happens in between:
How long should you stay?
Which route actually makes sense?
Is that “short drive” really short?
Does the lodge fit the traveller — not just the itinerary? Where do you need more time, and where is one night enough?

These are the decisions that can turn a collection of beautiful bookings into one seamless journey.
And often, my clients will never know how many little details were considered behind the scenes.
That’s exactly the point.
You shouldn’t have to think about the logistics while travelling.

You should simply feel that everything fits.

Most people never experience true silence in their entire lives.
No traffic. No voices. No hum of electricity.
Just 825,000 square kilometres of ancient desert doing absolutely nothing loudly.
You will either love it or it will terrify you.
Probably both.

Long before I worked with AI, I worked in hospitality.
And looking back, the two have more in common than I ever expected.
Hospitality teaches you to notice the small things: where people have to wait, where information gets lost, where something feels unnecessarily complicated — and where a little anticipation can completely change an experience.
It also teaches you something even more important:
Efficiency should never come at the expense of the human experience.
That principle shapes the way I look at AI and automation today.
I’m not interested in technology simply because it’s new or impressive. I’m interested in what it can quietly improve behind the scenes — so that people have more time, better information and more space for the things that actually require a human.
Maybe that’s why hospitality and AI don’t feel like two completely different worlds to me.

Both are ultimately about creating better experiences.
Less complexity. More possibilities.

I like knowing where I’m staying and how the journey fits together. But when I travel, I also want the freedom to stop somewhere interesting or change my plans for the afternoon.
That’s something I think about when planning for other people, too. How much can we comfortably fit into a day? Would another night here make the trip more enjoyable? Where can we leave a little room?
A beautiful place deserves time to be enjoyed.

For me, a little luxury on a journey is having time to enjoy where you are.
A beautiful place to stay, a view you don’t want to leave, and a morning with nothing urgent to do.
I love exploring, too. Finding out what’s around the next corner and getting to know a place beyond the first impression. When I plan a journey, I look for a balance between those experiences and time to simply settle in.
Namibia has been my home for more than 17 years. As a Travel Specialist and Designer, I bring that experience into choosing routes, stays and a pace that suits the people travelling.

Namibia is the one destination that makes photographers cry.
In the best possible way. 📸🏜️
Dead Vlei at sunrise. Sossusvlei dunes turning red at dusk.
Scenes so cinematic you forget to take the photo.
But the desert doesn't care about your camera.

✅ Camera lenses and electronics fail in extreme heat, never leave gear in a hot vehicle
✅ Fine desert sand gets into everything including your lungs, a buff around your face on windy days
✅ Sossusvlei dune climbs in midday heat have caused serious heat stroke, pre dawn only
Namibia will give you the best shots of your life.
Just make sure you're still standing to take them.

Namibia is proof that empty is not the same as nothing.
Far from it. 🏜️🌟
Dead vlei. Fish River Canyon. Etosha at dusk.
Places that stop you mid sentence and make you forget what you were saying.
A couple of things before you disappear into it.

✅ Flies in the bush carry disease here unlike anywhere else in Africa, avoid eating outdoors uncovered
✅ Remote campsites have no lighting after dark, a head torch is not optional
✅ Sand roads look driveable until they are not, never underestimate Namibian terrain

Namibia will empty your mind completely.
That is the whole point.
