The art of consideration ✨

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what’s being poured into me, what I pour into others and where I can find a little more balance between the two.

I’m realizing how much of it comes down to consideration.

The smallest acts of consideration go such a long way with me. Just knowing that someone thought of me, my circumstances, my feelings or even the little things I might not have mentioned means so much.

Because giving comes so naturally to me, I don’t think I’ve always paid as much attention to what receiving looks and feels like for me so realizing that has created a shift.

Not necessarily in how much I want to give, but in how much I’m allowing myself to recognize, appreciate and desire that same thoughtfulness in return. 🤎 taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico by @namihewitt

Okay so we've been talking about Baja a lot lately but the funny thing is... I’ve actually never been.

Alejandro has been going for years and has told me so many stories about this place, the roadtrip down there from San Diego, what the surf is like at the beaches, the fishing in the estuaries, the culture of the town and also what staying in Black Bass Lodge is like…. every time he talks about it I’m like... okay!!! I need to see this for myself.

When he asked if I wanted to cohost a trip there, I was immediately into it! So come February 2027, we will be spending seven days at Black Bass Lodge in Mexico and we want you to come with us!

Here are all the details 🤎

Date: February 16th-22nd
$1800 | Payment plans available
Secure your spot with $300

We are covering EVERYTHING (accommodations, meals, activities, transportation) so all you have to do is get to San Diego, California on February 15th!

If you've been wanting to do something a little different, this might be your sign.

DM either of us or comment the word “BAJA” and we'll send you everything you need to know. taken in Los Angeles, California by @namihewitt

I am so excited about my trips in the coming months because I have the travel itch and I NEED to scratch it!!!!!

It's a little ironic since I have barely spent time in the house this year. I've been busy busy or just out adventuring and it has been GREAT dont get me wrong.. it's just not the same as traveling. Especially when it comes down to the way I travel and also when it's traveling to somewhere completely new.

I'll be in Japan for 3 weeks in November and then I'll be spending some extended time in Baja next year as well as a few other countries. The keyword for me though is extended because those little short trips are great to get away for a second but thats exactly what it feels like - A SECOND.

When I travel, I like to dig in. I like to take my time. Even on my little one weekers, I do my best to leave things up in the air so it doesn't feel like I have a million things to do but for these upcoming shinanigans, ill be able to be on chill mode because ill have more time in the places im going to.

Anyways.... here is a photo dump from my Medellin, Colombia trip that I had at the beginning of this year. It was a busier trip and it was fun packed. I love medellin because it feels like a second home. I spent so much time digging into this city that when I go back, it feels like I can just be present and I love that for me. taken in Medellín, Colombia by @namihewitt

📍Charco Azul in Puerto Rico

I love going to the different rivers and swimming holes here on the island. They look and feel so magical!

This one is a super quick and easy walk to a swimming hole thats perfect for all ages! There were some older guys that had their chairs set up in the river, there was a group of girls hanging out in the shallows and then there was me, jumping off the highest rock into the deepest part of the river 😂

This was only 1 of 2 rivers we visited this day so its safe to say that river hopping will be my new favorite activity 🤗 taken in Charco Azul, Patillas, P.R. by @namihewitt

Okay THIS was such an AMAZING day.

We met up with Alejandro to venture into the mountains of Puerto Rico. After a 2 hour drive, we found ourselves at a magical place: Amasar Farm.

It’s a farm on the island that produces pana flour! Pana is the Puerto Rican word for breadfruit which is a powerhouse of nutrition. Up until this point, I had only ever heard about it being boiled and eaten with veggies. I've never had the opportunity to try it so I was super excited.

When we arrived at the farm, we met the founders of Amasar, Marisol and Jesus, who gave us a tour! We got to see where the magic happens, learn about how the pana is processed and distributed and then they introduced us to the rest of the farm..

We hopped on the golf cart, grabbed some bananas, tasted the sweetest cacao I’ve ever had and harvested some pomarrosas.

They saved the best part of the day for last: FOOD.

We got to eat a whole feast of fried chicken, waffles and even PIZZA, all made with flour from the pana processed right there on the farm.

I was blown away by Marisol and Jesus and what they created. They were so informative, answered all of our questions and really just welcomed us with open arms. It was such a special experience 🥹

If you’re coming to Puerto Rico and looking for something a little different to do, this is your sign. And if you’re wanting to try pana flour yourself, check out their social media and website for more info 🙌🏽 taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico by @namihewitt

A little behind the scenes of us figuring out how we're getting to Baja 🌵

Alejandro has done this road trip a bunch of times, so I basically just sat there and let him explain the entire route to me 😂

This was one of the first moments where I was like... wait.

We're actually doing this.

We've got a Baja trip coming up and we're bringing a small group with us.

More soon 🤎 taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico by @namihewitt
