Florida Trail 143/500+ ✅ Enjoyed a peaceful, quick hike at Holland Memorial Park today. The wildlife was hiding (probably to escape the intense sun!), so I kept it brief, too. The UV index is no joke right now! Make sure you’re staying hydrated!

This Pied-billed Grebe is the absolute cutest little thing in the water! Believe it or not, these tiny birds are nature’s submarines. They can squeeze air out of their feathers to slowly sink out of sight when they want to hide!

Florida Trail 142/500+ ✅ The Florida hiking quest continues! We took the Intracoastal Waterway Trail in Palm Coast. It’s a beautifully accessible, 3.2-mile paved path right by the water, complete with a playground, a fishing pier, and plenty of wildlife. The clouds tricked us, and we ended up caught in an absolute downpour with zero cover! I was completely drenched and could barely see, but my daughter thought it was the best thing ever. Despite the unexpected shower, I’d absolutely hike this trail again! 🌧️🥾
