[Board 26-27 Intros] Nanami Yamakawa! Social Media Coordinator Nanami Yamakawa (she/her) is a Japanese actor pursuing a BFA in Music Theatre and Honors in Acting. As a fourth-year undergraduate student at UC Irvine, she is thrilled to be returning to her second and final year serving on the AZN Board as the Social Media Coordinator! In her time off the stage, you may see her walking backwards through campus as a Campus Representative. Feel free to say hi if you encounter one of her tours! She has always had a strong passion for arts, crafts, scrapbooking, and junk journaling, so you may catch her saving label stickers or doodling on the corner of her page. Her love for media and marketing management, in addition to her passion for advocacy for AANHPI voices in theatre, is fulfilled through her involvement with Underground AZN Players. New Swan's 2026 Acting Company: Nanami Yamakawa! (@nanami.ymkw) Playing Singer/Ensemble and understudying Anne Page in “The Merry Wives” | playing Ensemble and understudying Peter in “Romeo & Juliet” Fun Fact: Nanami is a fantastic illustrator – truuuly! Nanami is thrilled to be spending her summer at the Swan! Nanami is a rising fourth-year at the University of California, Irvine, intending to graduate with a BFA in Music Theatre in 2027. You may recognize her from the previous New Swan season’s Front of House and Media team! Her favorite theatre credits include The Little Mermaid (Flounder) and Avenue Q (Bad Idea Bear 1). Upcoming project includes originating the role of Yoko in “at the very bottom of a body of water” at UC Irvine in the Spring. She is the Social Media Representative for the Underground AZN Players at UC Irvine (@undergroundasianatuci), building a community to celebrate AANHPI theatre communities.
