Une projection organisée par @cinewax et @lesvalseurs autour du documentaire « Soundtrack to a Coup d’État » du réalisateur Johan Grimonprez.
Une soirée qui dépasse largement le cinéma : un espace pour écouter, apprendre, relier l’histoire, la musique et les enjeux politiques qui les traversent.

Ce film montre avec une précision presque chirurgicale comment le jazz — musique née de la lutte et de la quête de liberté — s’est retrouvé instrumentalisé dans les jeux d’influence autour du Congo et de l’assassinat de Patrice Lumumba.
Soft power, puissances coloniales, hégémonie, manipulation diplomatique…
Et au milieu de tout ça, des artistes impliqués malgré eux. De quoi poser les bases pour mieux comprendre ce qu’il se passe depuis trop longtemps en RDC 🇨🇩

Last night felt like a bridge between continents.
4 DJs took us on a journey through Baile Funk, Kuduro, Batida, and deep Lusophone rhythms.

Languages mixed. Beats hit hard. And joy had no translation.
