enby party was the perfect way to end a three show week 🥹 (dolly show not pictured if you got a pic or vid of me at that please send it!)

i finally found out why my eyes were stinging all day yesterday and why i kept tearing up for no reason and why i've been keeping myself going nonstop... and why i sobbed for a full hour after getting home from enby party

it is blowing my mind what a difference a year can make.

today is literally the anniversary of when i was trying to plan my grand finale on earth. i was supposed to have my birthday show at jack straw and then that was gonna be it for me.

before that could happen i had an incident on september 28th, 2025.

on september 28th this year all i was worried about was trying not to butcher "here you come again" to a fully packed royal room. and i succeeded even tho i have no proof 😂

i made an effort to save myself on september 29th, 2025 by cancelling the show. i had absolutely no idea at the time that i would last long enough to plan a new birthday show surrounded by so many people i love.

on october 2nd i had another incident. who knew a year later i'd be in on stage getting everyone to sing "rodeodeodeodeodeodeodeohohoh" 🥹

if you're currently considering suicide i would REALLY encourage you to give it like a year at LEAST and ask for help. i didn't think i would ever be happy to be alive ever again but i'm here i am ☺️ by @nancecastrosings

AND it's national suicide prevention month. it's been almost a year since i had a severe mental health crisis and nearly lost my life.

to celebrate sticking around and to bring awareness to others i'm going to share 13 reasons for why i stuck around in no particular order.

reason 13: spite

let’s be real. i’m a fat nonbinary bisexual mentally ill Chamoru musician. bigots don’t want me to exist so i’m going to keep being annoying and singing my little songs and telling my little jokes until i’m old as hell!!!!

it's national suicide prevention month and tomorrow is my 30th birthday. it's been almost a year since i had a severe mental health crisis and nearly lost my life.

to celebrate sticking around and to bring awareness to others i'm going to share 13 reasons for why i stuck around in no particular order.

reason 12: self care

it basically took the whole 30 years for me to internalize that i am a person who is worthy of love and care and that the person most capable of knowing exactly how that needs to happen is me.

for a long time i really felt like care was a reward you had to earn but thanks to my loved ones repeating to me otherwise over and over and over again i finally got it through my thick skull.

for me self care is the act of literally caring about myself which means saying no to more things i don’t want to do. it means completing care tasks like sleep, hygiene and nourishment. sometimes it means treats :)

going from self hate to self love was a major feat and sometimes i still have bad days but i got here and you can too! by @nancecastrosings

reason 11: rodeo coven

on one of the days where things almost happened i called @gruffwebconjurer and they gave me a breathing exercise to do that slowed me down enough to still be here.

writing music with spur and working on the arrangements with tori and lucky has been such a gift to stick around for.

even tonight i felt the blues rolling in now that i've had a hypomanic episode end but since i had rodeo coven practice i got to be surrounded by love and understanding 💗

all of us have had a real doozy of a year but we keep making some really cool art together and i'm so excited for y'all to see what we've been working on on 10/02 at enby party! by @nancecastrosings

reason 10: spiritual practice

i believe my ancestors are always guiding me
and i like using tarot to connect with what they're trying to tell me. over and over, in their own way, they kept telling me to stay.

i was quite the atheist for a long time after leaving catholicism but i would be lying if i didn't say it left a hole in my life. a hole that has since been filled with learning more about ancient Chamoru spiritual practice and tarot and astrology. believing in something beyond myself and beyond tangible proof helped me believe that one day me and my brain could be on the same side. and look where we are now :) by @nancecastrosings

reasons 8 & 9: working on my debut album & playing with the Beefeetees

it's really nice having something to look forward to every week

earlier this year i expressed to keegan that i wanted to record my music with a full band and he told me he'd pitch it to the rest of the Beefeetees. i figured it was a long shot but they all said yes 🥳

the Beefeetees are genuinely one of my favorite bands so if i'm being real i was kind of in disbelief until the process actually started getting underway

working on the album has been a little insane because i had my jack straw residency for the EP at the same time but it has been so gratifying putting my most beloved tunes to tape with a band that somehow magically understands exactly how the songs are supposed to sound.

sometimes the only thing getting me through a week was knowing that i'd get to see Freddie (whose house we record at) and Keegan and Ben and Aiden.

these moments making this record have been so friggen special and i'm so excited to show y'all what we've been working on on 9/29 at the Royal Room 💗 by @nancecastrosings
