💜 Heart Art, Made with Intention 💜

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner ❤️ and these heart-shaped canvas pieces make a meaningful, one-of-a-kind gift—whether it’s for someone you love or a little self-love moment for yourself.

Each heart is created using fluid art techniques, allowing the paint to flow naturally so no two pieces are ever the same. Some are left beautifully abstract, while others are hand-embellished with textured florals and details, adding depth, movement, and lots of love.

I also create heart magnets, perfect for a sweet pop of art anywhere you want a daily reminder of love and creativity.

🧁✨ A birthday surprise in full bloom! ✨🧁

This order was such a joy to create! My customer gave me full creative freedom for her husband’s birthday cupcakes. She mentioned how much she loved the mauve and purple cupcakes I had brought to the animal shelter, and while she first thought of black and orange for his Harley Davidson colors, she told me to “just do what you want.”

Since I didn’t have black, I surprised her by blending the mauve she loved with vibrant orange for her husband. To make them extra special, I added edible butterflies, delicate flowers, pearly beads, and a touch of sparkle. ✨

She was absolutely thrilled with how they turned out — and that makes me the happiest baker! 💜🧡

❤️❄️ A Cardinal in the Snow ❄️❤️

I painted this beautiful cardinal back in 2024, and I still love the way this piece captures that quiet, peaceful feeling of a snowy winter day.

The brilliant red cardinal perched beside the old-fashioned lamppost really stands out against the soft gray winter sky, while the warm golden glow from the lantern adds just a touch of warmth to the cold, snowy scene. I especially enjoyed adding all those little details—the snow collecting on the lantern, the delicate falling flakes, and the different shades of crimson and burgundy throughout the cardinal’s feathers.

There’s just something special about seeing a cardinal in winter. ❤️ They bring such a beautiful burst of color to an otherwise quiet landscape, and for many people, cardinals also carry a very personal and meaningful symbolism.

Sometimes it’s fun to look back at paintings from a couple of years ago and remember where I was in my artistic journey at the time. ❤️

What does seeing a cardinal mean to you?

These are just many of my fluid art pieces. I love creating fluid art. You just never know where it will take you. You don’t know what the composition will look like until it’s entirely dry. #paintingsbynragusa #fluidartwork #fluidart #fluidartist by @nancy_ragusa033

🖤🖤 Getting my goth on today! 🖤🖤

Some days call for bright colors… and some days call for black everything. 😎

Feeling a little mysterious, a little edgy, and completely embracing my dark side today. Between the black dress, dark lipstick, and magenta streaks, I’d say the goth vibes are strong with this one. 🦇🖤

No worries though—I still bring light and love wherever I go. I just happen to do it dressed like I might own a haunted Victorian mansion. 😂

This is “My Hideaway”
🖼 16x20 oil on stretched canvas

I painted this several years ago on a day when everything felt heavy. My mind wasn’t quiet, my heart wasn’t light, and I needed somewhere to go… even if it was just on canvas.

So I created one.

A place to escape.
A place where the noise softened.
A place that felt like I could just be for a moment.

Looking at it now, I’m reminded that even in our darkest moments, we still have the ability to create something meaningful… something that holds us together when we feel like we’re falling apart.

Art isn’t always about beauty.
Sometimes it’s about survival.

“Autumn’s Quiet Path” is an original 18x24 oil painting on stretched canvas that captures the beauty and stillness of a countryside landscape in the height of autumn.

A gently winding path draws the viewer through golden fields toward a rustic cabin nestled among trees bursting with seasonal color. The sky above is soft yet alive, with birds in flight adding a sense of movement and freedom. Rich textures and layered brushwork bring depth and life to the scene, while the warm tones evoke comfort, nostalgia, and serenity.

This piece invites you to pause, breathe, and step into a moment of quiet escape—where nature’s beauty surrounds you and nothing else is needed.

One of my favorite paintings I did early in my painting career. This piece I called Mystic Skies and was sold soon after I painted it. by @nancy_ragusa033

Well… these cupcakes put me THROUGH it. 😅

I made them for a coworker and let’s just say the struggle was real. The heat was on in the house, and buttercream and warm temperatures are NOT friends. I lowered the heat, opened windows… still too soft. Into the fridge it went. Then I left it in a little too long and had to wait for it to soften again.

Piping bags busted. One fell and the buttercream hit the floor — straight into the trash. My cupcake boxes tore. I was honestly saying “ugh” more than once.

But in the end? My coworkers absolutely loved them. They even thought I bought them from a bakery. 🥹 That right there made every frustrating moment worth it.

Sometimes behind the pretty swirls and flowers is a whole lot of trial, error, and determination. And I wouldn’t trade that feeling when people truly enjoy what I made. 💗🧁 by @nancy_ragusa033
