Quick Michigan visit to get some errands done in the fields at the new place, before the frost sets in.
Scenes from our drive to and from the hardware store today. The leaves are turning colors and putting on quite a show. Betty went over into the farmer’s field next door. Apparently the straw is deep lol Tomorrow we are going to go for another little car ride.
It really is crazy how much more relaxed we all feel when we are here. ❤️ #southhavenmichigan #fallvibes #leafpeeping taken in South Haven, Michigan by @nancycwhiskey

Project is Entangled Vines by Alana Dakos

I started this sweater when I was still working, so I want to say 2013? Either way, I messed up a cable, couldn’t figure it out and put it in a bag in my closet. Cut to 2025, I opened the bag, looked at the pattern and now ten plus years of knitting experience allowed me to fix my mistake! #knitting #knitwear #knittingaddict #entangledvinescardigan #ravelrydesign by @nancycwhiskey

Beautiful weekend in Michigan. The girls always love romping around the land. We had our first fire in our new patio/ fire pit. I discovered that the big tree in the backyard is a chestnut tree 🌰 We went to an amazing dinner amongst the vines at Michigan Wine Company. It was such a perfect fall weekend and we can’t wait to start spending longer periods of time there. by @nancycwhiskey

I had a fun weekend at the Allegan County Fiber Festival. Highly recommend if you are within a 5 hour drive, it’s totally worth it. Bigger than Wisconsin, and more variety. I took a felting class and made a beautiful bird pod. This one will stay inside. Maybe I will make another one for the birds, but this one was my first! So it’s precious. I also made a basket to use when harvesting my garden. It’s wonky and has spaces, but I made it with my own two hands and that’s so cool!!!! #alleganmichigan #fiberfestival #alleganfiberfestival #basketweaving #feltart taken in South Haven, Michigan by @nancycwhiskey

Alex and I closed on what will be our second home/ vacation home/ eventual retirement home on the shores of South West Michigan!!!! It is a 106 years old Farmhouse on over 2 acres. Our neighbors farm 120 acres around us! So lots of land and lots of space. It has been previously updated, so don’t let that or the pink carpet scare you. There are more renovations coming soon, so stay tuned to see what happens on the inside. This has been a dream of ours for a couple years now, and we’ve been hard at work saving up and planning for this day. I am proud of us both for having a vision and sticking to our goals. We make a good team. I really hope this place will allow Alex some respite and peace away from work.

Edit: I am NOT leaving Chicago. It was my idea to move here and I LOVE IT. No matter what, we will always have a place there (maybe looking into an apartment next year). taken in South Haven, Michigan by @nancycwhiskey
