Thinking about how we say “release” when putting out a new lot of songs and the implication of that word. Makes me think of injured wild animals being nursed back to health or intoxication. I guess it does feel like letting something go or allowing yourself some kind of peace and quiet. It’s something you love and create and hold close- like kids. But nobody says “I released my kid to college today”. Or do they…

Always eternally grateful to @abeyllin for being my closest collaborator and keeping me sane during these processes. If you don’t have an @abeyllin you should ask your mom maybe she will give you one too. Slim chance but stay hopeful.

So anyways, here are a few things I’ve been sitting on! Born over the course of years in some ways.

Streaming on all platforms now- Speaking Things.

Thank you for listening, I ❤️ you. by @naniliin

So last week I performed some original songs for the first time in front of a crowd! A couple of folks let me know they’d like to be able to listen to them so I pulled out some of the first recordings I did of these pieces and popped them on streaming services.

These are songs I wrote over various periods of time over the last few years. If you’re curious I’d love if you could give them a listen- they’re all very dear and near to me and open to your personal interpretation. Thank you sooo much to everyone who’s been so sweet and supportive I love and appreciate you all very very much ❤️❤️.

Available on all streaming platforms- my first EP: Heart Racer.

Hope you enjoy:)) taken in Manhattan, New York by @naniliin

Looking back, most things are no longer the same. This year in particular, so many things have happened, it can’t possibly be fit into one caption. Like others, I spent most of this time alone stewing in nostalgia as I shift into a new phase. There’s something peculiar about glancing behind, acknowledging growth, and anticipating change. To describe this inexplicable feeling my brother, @abeyllin , and I put it into music.

#ChasingReversal is out now everywhere including Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, iHeartRadio and more. If you like the song, please share with us how you felt, and feel free to send it to others who you think would like it too. We put a piece of ourselves into this piece, and we really hope y’all can feel #ChasingReversal. by @naniliin

I’m incredibly honored to have been featured in the amazing short doc “OUT of THIN AIR” by @abeyllin! The music I create has always been a very personal and private aspect of my life but as I step into a new chapter, I couldn’t have worked with a better creator to help transition my approach.

Thank you so much to the Culture and Diversity Film Festival for awarding “OUT of THIN AIR” with Best Student Film, and Best Original Song! the process of creating this film was already so gratifying, and these awards make it all the more worth it. I’m so thankful for the experience of meeting everyone, and I look forward to working together in the future!

This past week, I feel as though I have witnessed the complex and courageous ways communities support each other. Lately, it seems as though media is overwhelmed with fear and anxiety. But at this dark juncture, it is clear that our most wonderful qualities are peering through. I’m relieved and hopeful to see news stories of people putting themselves on the front lines of aid. As each day passes, more and more inspirational stories are being aired and posted, making it evident that humanity is resilient in the face of immense challenge.

I’m incredibly grateful to KTVU Fox 2 News (@ktvu2 ) and others for sharing the message of “Catching Love” and standing with our cause. In a time where it may seem simpler to only observe the course of events, my heart is warmed by the voices that have emerged and supported the movement of positivity and love. Thanks again to everyone who’s been a part of this project. Together, we’re truly making a difference!

This is a reminder that Humanity and Love are common threads throughout any color or culture. The film is 3.5 min long; 210 seconds that will reverse this swelling wave of bigotry and xenophobia. #catchinglove
