The future is now! More women in sports media! More women in media, period!

Joining @lasfotosproject as a teaching artist + mentor has easily been one of the most meaningful things I’ve done this year. It’s pushed me to slow down, reflect on more than a decade of experience behind the camera, and figure out how to turn everything I’ve learned into something I can pass forward.

This year I’ve had the opportunity to build a sports photography curriculum rooted in real-world training: technical education, hands-on workshops, creative development, and conversations around what it actually means to show up as a leader on set.

But what I love most about teaching is that it goes beyond learning how to make a great image.

It’s technical skills + confidence. Artistic development + finding your voice. Learning the camera + learning to trust yourself.

Watching the next gen step onto the sidelines, take up space, and see themselves as photographers and leaders has been incredibly special.

a few selects from my favorite wild goose chase aka @_work_week

12+ hour days in the back of a truck, 10 miles of hiking trying to time a shot, scouting nooks on the side of the road — all while chasing athlete dots on the gps.

There’s something about shooting in vast landscapes that softens everything though. The scale puts you in your place and the hardest days feel more possible out there.

What makes this week so special, is everyone around you is running their own endurance race too. Athletes, media, production — we’re all at our edge, every single day. But for some reason suffering together that changes things. The landscapes humble you and the people carry you. by @naohmi

2025 was the year I learned to prioritize life as much as work. And damn, as a biz owner I’m so proud!
Between days on set and long hours behind a screen, I made space for nature, for friendship, and for lots of lil moments that meant so much. Not as a reward, but as part of the practice.
