🕊 Perry

Ayo Perry. Rest in Power.

From the moment we met at CSULA, it was immediate our light shined bright. Garifuna, Belizean, American party monsters upholding the culture where we could. We smiled, we gossiped, we mentored each other through several life moments. You helped me moved into my first apartment in LA and when I got to New York we had hudutu at your Auntie house in the Bronx come to find out the lady is my mom niece.
Vibezzzzzzzz always.

We were both looking forward to being the old people dancing Punta on the dance floor.

Well my friend til we meet again.

Celebrating the resilience of the Garinagu.
Happy Garifuna Settlement Day Belize 🇧🇿 Nov 19.

In the 1940s, Thomas Vincent Ramos lobbied the British Crown to recognized the arrival of the Garinagu in Belize after being forcibly removed from our homeland Yurumein <St Vicent and the Grenadines> by the British in 1796.
