JOD ELECTRIFIED
@ Temporary Monument ATL/LEX
325 Main St - Second Floor

JOD Electrified is the latest from saxophonist Jacob O’Donnell, previously of Joslyn and the Sweet Compression, Vinyl Richie, and the Tee Dee’s house band. In this project, O’Donnell uses electronic processing to unlock a dazzling and entirely new sonic palette from his horn. He is joined by bassist Eli Uttal-Veroff and percussionist Dave Farris, both of whom also utilize electronics in their performances. The trio creates an improvisatory sound landscape of looped and processed elements drawing from numerous genres. The end product is both catchy, groove based, and just the right amount of weird.

Temporary Monument: ATL/LEX brings together artists from Atlanta and Lexington in a pop-up exhibition organized by the @temporaryartcenter in collaboration with @2ndstory.art and the @ukartmuseum, in addition to cultural producers @ddmmfreed and @katherinestpaul, and real estate developer @katiekaufman. by @naptownjazz12

Had a wonderful time recording UK’s Verdi Quartet today at WUKY (a.k.a. the studio formerly known as Saint Claire). They recorded movements from quartets by Brahms and Ginastera. Special shout out to @adkmicrophone, the Munich’s were awesome for string spots! by @naptownjazz12

Thankful that @originsjazz entrusts us as the new home of their beautiful piano. It has seen so many hands that it may need its own guest book. by @naptownjazz12

@cafepatachou was one of our go-to spots when we lived in Indy, and now they opened their first location outside of Indiana five minutes from our house. by @naptownjazz12

We had a lovely weekend hosting the legendary Big Rube @bigrubeatl! Beautiful people, beautiful space, warm energy, and a special appearance by @sinnerthasaint! The band! The band was Ah Ah Ahmazing. Local talent behind a legend will never go out of style. We thank you for coming out and spending your Saturday evening at The Melroy.
