When I moved from London to Nardò in 2020, I never imagined that the story of Nardò House would one day appear in The Sunday Times.

The article follows my journey from discovering a crumbling historic palazzo to spending three years restoring it and creating a place that feels luxurious, personal and genuinely welcoming.

A day at Nardo House ✨

In a single day, you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of Porto Selvaggio, enjoy lunch overlooking the sea in Santa Maria al Bagno, and return to Nardò for an evening stroll and dinner in the historic centre.

Whether you're here for the beaches, the food, the culture, or simply to slow down and enjoy southern Italy, Nardò makes an ideal base for exploring the best of Salento.

Some evenings ask for very little.

A table set beneath the open sky. The scent of lemon leaves drifting through the terrace. A glass being filled. Small plates arriving one by one. The bells of Nardò marking the hour somewhere beyond the rooftops.

Recently, we arranged a private rooftop dinner for guests staying at Nardo House. No grand occasion, no special event—just the simple pleasure of sharing good food, good wine, and a beautiful evening in Puglia.

Morning light spills through the historic entry hall as the bells from nearby churches echo through the streets of Nardò.

One of the things guests remember most about staying at Nardo House is the atmosphere. The quiet early mornings, the changing light across the stone walls, the sound of the city slowly waking up beneath the windows of the palazzo.
