Episode 4 of 5, The Game
This is where everything comes together. Narr is a fast paced, tactical, chaotic and ful of humour.

The goal is simple, but getting there is anything but.

This game is built for loud laughter around the table, laughter made by clever tricks, mischief and all sorts of shenanigans. Worst case scenario: You just want to play again, and again.

Creating NARR hasn’t just been about building a game. It’s been about learning, growing and slowly becoming the kind of creator I want to be.

For NARR, it started with the thrill of chasing a high score, and a question on, how could I turn this feeling into something I could share around a table with my friends.

Another playtest night last Friday.
More chaos, more candy, a lot of winning mentality and some new rules put to the test.

Every game of NARR teaches me something new and every table and playstyle tells a different story.

Until this phase of the game’s development, I have used AI-generated images as temporary visual prototypes.
The reason is simple: The game has changed many, many times during the playtesting. Rules, pacing, balance, and card mechanics has all been re-worked several times. Involving an illustrator at this early and constantly evolving stage would neither have been financially responsible nor fair.

The AI images were never the end goal, they have been a tool for playtesting and communication, nothing more.

Now the game is stable enough and this is the moment I want to find the right illustrator to give the game its soul, personality and visual identity that will carry the game all the way to release.

If you’re an illustrator, or know someone who is, who enjoys card games, character design, wacky humour, and wants to be involved early in a well-tested project, feel free to reach out.

A little forest walk game update 🌲🃏

Narr is growing step by step, playtests are running smooth, no no changes to the rules, som small polish of the balance but yeah, the chaos is starting to form.

Here’s what I’m working on right now.
- Balance change
- Artwork and design on the cards. I need to decide what kind of feeling I want to bring. When I’m done I’ll will find a illustrator who will bring the work of Narr to life.
