Tiny, often hand-made, meaningful gifts are exchanged among the cast and team just prior to the première, as a token of gratitude, love, and good luck. [6/7] ENG: I can feel the smell of the fact that these new friendships will last forever. It smells of anise seed, of cloves, and of cinnamon, a smell that bundles up the soul, that apapacha the heart, and that shows me that in my new friends I have also a home. I am, day to day, more of who I want to be, thank to y'all guys. I will never forget you ❤️‍🔥. And I really mean this: you are really a piece of Heaven. ESP: Se siente el olor de que las amistades que construimos quedarán para siempre. Huele a anís, a clavo de olor y a canela, es un aroma que envuelve el alma, apapacha el corazón, y que me muestra que en mis nuevos amigos también tengo un hogar. [5/7] ENG: I have been thinking for a while, of whether I enjoyed the most the very experience of the musical, or rather the friendships that were built upon it. Truth is, this is a false dichotomy, in reality both things are inseparable, none of them is above the other. And because of this, it'd be impossible not to mention the great human team that's behind all of this, that enlivened the flames of this heart of mine. Thank you Lupe and Lu for the script and the guidance all along, without you this wouldn't've been possible. Thank you Cata, Jo, and Kami for your huge work, not only did you build a self-consisting story, but you also put your heart and soul into even the finest details. Thank you Nachi and Cele for actively making this a safe and enjoyable space, do know that you did it above and beyond. And thank to all and every one who was a part of this, if I was to write what I need to tell every one of you, I would never finish. I cannot think of anything I would change of this experience. ESP: Llevo un tiempo intentando pensar si acaso disfruté más la experiencia misma del musical, o las amistades que forjé a fuego en el camino. Y la verdad es que es una falsa dicotomía, en la realidad son inseparables, ninguna está por sobre la otra. Y por lo mismo, sería imposible no mencionar al tremendo equipo humano que hay detrás de todo esto, y que avivó las llamas de mi corazoncito. Gracias Lupe y Lu por el guión y la guía a lo largo de este semestre, sin ustedes esto no habría sido posible. Gracias Cata, Jo y Kami por su tremendo trabajo, no sólo lograron armar una historia autoconsistente, sino que le pusieron mucho cariño incluso a los detalles más finos. Gracias Nachi y Cele por ocuparse activamente de que esto sea un entorno seguro y disfrutable, sepan que lo lograron con creces. Y gracias a todos y cada uno de quienes participaron, si me pusiera a detallar todo lo que necesito decirles no terminaría nunca. [4/7] ENG: Initially, I was afraid to freeze on stage, to be overcome by anxiety, to be devoured by an audience that perhaps expected from me more than I could deliver. But during the plays, during a fraction of a second at a dramatic pause, the lights were low so I could look at the audience I was questioning. And I was able to taste the feel of the scene in their eyes, surprised at how comfortable I felt on a stage. It was something I was not waiting for, and that came as one of the many gifts I was given that day. ESP: En un inicio tenía miedo de quedarme congelado en el escenario, de que me la ganaran los nervios, de que me comiera un público que quizá esperaba de mí mucho más de lo que podía entregar. Pero durante las funciones, en una fracción de segundo durante una pausa dramática a mitad de mi canción, las luces estaban bajas así que pude mirar al público que interpelaba. Y pude saborear la emoción de la escena reflejada en sus ojos, sorprendido de lo cómodo que me sentí en el escenario. [3/7] ENG: Exact moment where the Count, just about to board the train that was supposed to take him to Paris, identifies Princess Anastasia: "Glod bless you." It's amazing how the character roots into you at every second of the play. You forget about yourself and simply become a part of the story. I will be forever grateful to my mates at @alicanto_compania for having given me this shared experience. ESP: Momento exacto en que el Conde, a punto de abordar el tren que lo llevará a París, reconoce a la Princesa Anastasia: "Dios la bendiga." Es increíble cómo el personaje echa raíces en uno en cada segundo de la función. Te olvidas de ti mismo, y sólo eres parte de la historia. [2/7] ENG: In "Anastasia", I was Count Ipolitov, an old Russian aristocrat and intellectual who was forcefully displaced after the Revolution, chased by the bolsheviks. I was given the great opportunity to study a character, giving it relief, making it my own, and build upon the points where the character and I resonate with each other. Not only did I grew in my acting, singing, and dancing skills (which I didn't know I had), but it also was a profoundly human experience. I have always thought that art is a way to talk about the deepest bundles of human experience, and it was a gift to be able to be not only a part of those who acted this play, but also part of the canvas where this painting happens. I was definitely left craving for more. ESP: En "Anastasia", fui el Conde Ipolitov, un antiguo aristócrata e intelectual ruso que se vio obligado a escapar de su patria después de la Revolución, perseguido por los bolcheviques ❤️‍🩹. Tuve la gran oportunidad de estudiar un personaje, darle relieve, hacerlo propio, y apoyarme en los puntos en que resueno con él. 🔥 No sólo crecí en habilidades de actuación, canto y baile que no sabía que tenía, sino que además fue una experiencia profundamente humana. Siempre he pensado que las artes son el vehículo para hablar sobre fibras profundas de la experiencia humana, y fue un regalo tremendo poder ser no sólo parte de quienes actuaron esta obra, sino que también ser parte del lienzo donde ocurre esta pintura. [1/7] ENG: For anyone who doesn't know, this semester I acted in a musical by @alicanto_compania 🎭. Here's a photo dump of what these 3 months have been (too much text alert). I can barely think of times where I have been happier than with these guys, the warmth, the professionalism, the rowing together in the same direction, the supporting each other, and every laughter shared, have shone bright in my life, and have left a mark that undoubtedly came to stay. 🌟 ESP: Para quienes no supieron, este semestre actué en un musical de @alicanto_compania 🎭. Se viene photo dump de lo que ha sido estos 3 meses (alerta de mucho texto).
