Earthshine, shot on one of the iPhones onboard the Orion spacecraft during the Artemis II mission.

There is something so relatable about seeing the Earth from that distance through the same lens that many of us carry in our pockets every day. An incredible sight to see.

Newley released video shows the moment that U.S. Navy Divers cracked the door open and entered the Orion to greet the Astronauts, welcoming them back to Earth after their journey around the Moon.

Astronaut Reid Wiseman:
“Jesse, Steve, Laddy, and Vlad….such an incredible feeling to welcome you aboard Integrity after a nearly 700,000 mile journey. Forever thankful for your service to our crew and the nation.”

A look inside the Orion spacecraft during Artemis II’s lunar flyby.

Whilst the main event was on the other side of the cameras, it’s fascinating to take a look at what the experience was like for the astronauts inside the spacecraft as they took photographs and observations.

More mind-blowing photos from Artemis II’s lunar flyby.

It is hard to believe that these are all real photos, taken by a human holding a regular camera.

They returned contact by sending back this view of a distant crescent Earth - each and every one of us is in this image.
