Honored that the @cubs reached out to me to be a part of Dogs Night Out @gallagherwaychi last night outside of Wrigley. I was able to illustrate 30+ dogs, each one in 5 minutes or less. These were two of my favorites (for obvious reasons, the Dolly Parton costume was amazing).

Within glitch feminism, glitch is celebrated as a vehicle of refusal, a strategy of nonperformance. This glitch aims to make abstract again that which has been forced into an uncomfortable and ill-defined material: the body. In glitch feminism, we look at the notion of glitch-as-error with its genesis in the realm of the machinic and the digital and consider how it can be reapplied to inform the way we see the AFK (Away From Keyboard) world, shaping how we might participate in it toward greater agency for and by ourselves. The annual Pups Halloween Costume Contest was a success! There were so many adorable pups in costume that I was able to capture with pen in 3 minutes or less. Live drawings are always a challenge, but it was incredibly fun. Thanks for letting me set up a booth and sell my drawings and paintings @luckydorrchicago!

Meet Meg Nash! Meg has been our Gallery Manager and Marketing Manager for nearly 3 years now.

She is an illustrator, curator, and arts administrator⁠ with her B.F.A. in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and M.A. in Arts Administration and Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She uses her background to market our small business, maintain our website, and generally oversee the day-to-day operations of our gallery. ⁠She also helps build and install our seasonal window displays! I found this painting in a dumpster so (of course) I kept it. In the very least, the canvas could be repurposed.
.
When I went to gesso over it, I decided to water down the gesso to create these thin layers that could be built up over time. This kind of experimentation felt natural, since watercolor is usually my paint of choice. Some of the original painting still appears through these thin veils of gesso.
.
There’s something sort of romantic about this idea of an anonymous collaboration. There’s someone out there I will never know that has contributed - in major ways - to the direction of this painting. They didn’t sign it, nor will they ever know that I dug this thing out of the trash. But together, we’ve made this funny little painting.
.
I’m trying to tap into intuition and let that feeling solely drive my hand. This painting is nowhere near the finish line. But I’m trying to share my process more - not just fully flushed out pieces.

What a wonderful week spent in Munich. I met some lovely folks, admired many, many pieces of jewelry, and learned a thing or two along the way. I’m extremely grateful that my creative career has given me opportunities like these.
