Everyone gets dealt cards, mine didn’t turn out in my favor, there is nothing you can do to change the past or change what you were given so why dwell on what happened to you. No one wants an injury their second half of their senior season but it’s what was dealt to me and there’s nothing I can do to change it. I’ll miss this team more then any other team I’ve ever had, the countless Culvers and Walmart runs before games, unforgettable van rides, unconditional support, haircuts given to me, and the dumb inside jokes we come up with. But as with everything else good in life, it must come to an end, the clock only goes one way, how you decide to use that time left on the clock is up to you, this team decided to use it to their fullest and make as many memories as they could and it’s hard to find a team like that. If I had the chance to live it all again I’d do it over and over and over again but there is no going back. I owe everything I have become in basketball and as a person to Coach Young and the willingness of the team to include everyone equally. I can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve given me. To everyone below me, I encourage you to work hard to improve our record, not that it can get much worse, but I also encourage that you spend time with the team, you only have so much time in high school sports and much of your life down the line is affected by it. Time is the only currency spent without knowing your balance, so I encourage you spend it while you can.

Saying goodbye to this sport was harder than I thought it would be

Missing the first half of my senior season taught me just how much I cared about the sport. I would rather run and hate the workout, than sit on the side and watch everyone do what I didn’t. No sport defines me more and has shaped me into the person I am more then this sport, my advice to everyone else below me is to enjoy it while you can, as one day in the future you’ll look back and miss it, when you cross the finish line for the last time, I promise you mile repeats won’t sound that bad. Many people supported me throughout my years but one stuck by my side, or ahead of me throughout it, I couldn’t ask for a better friend Bradyn. I’m still processing that we never will run a 5k together in high school again.
Sorry for the rant but I don’t get a senior night
