It’s taken me a couple of weeks to find the words. 💜

After months of planning, delivering our 10th Annual She Is Royal Conference and celebrating this incredible milestone, I simply wanted to say thank you.

To every attendee, speaker, host, exhibitor, sponsor, partner and the amazing World Lanterns team, thank you for making this one of our most memorable events yet.

A special thank you to our speakers: Professor Rev. George Toworfe, @iamruthconteh , Dr Gloria Oliomogbe, @jane_johnlewis, Nermeen Latif, @desthydee, @uuchey, @zeeblessed and Dr Solomon Bawa for sharing your wisdom and inspiring us all.

This year’s conference was especially personal. Standing on stage with a photograph of my late father reminded me that what began through grief has become a legacy of purpose, empowering women and creating opportunities for others.

👑 She Is Royal returns on 17 July 2027 for our 11th Annual Conference. Until then, thank you for being part of this journey.

Just like that 4th Degree in the bag… what an honour to now be among the Top 1% of Business Students across the world!

Can’t say this is the last time you’ll ever see me in a cap and gown but for now - PGCert Government Property Leadership bagged 🥹🥰.

This one was super special because my daughter got to see me walk the stage to receive my certificate. She witnessed the outcome of the long nights and hard work that mummy put in. To think that I accomplished this certification, whilst working as a Chief Operating Officer in a very complex government estate and running @worldlanterns and launching a new training programme 😵‍💫 it can only be God!

I am especially grateful to the village that I am surrounded with in all of those spheres that made it possible for me to delegate and lean on their support during one of the most intense seasons of my life.

To the woman juggling it all, here is a reminder that impossible is nothing and WE CAN INDEED HAVE IT ALL 🥂.

When my dad passed, I stepped into his shoes. Project management skills kicked in as I planned his funeral and cared for my mom, putting her grief before my own. My life's been defined by service and duty, often meaning I couldn't process my own loss.

What if your obedience is someone else’s lifeline?

In this episode of Her Executive Diary, @nashescorner reflects on the moment she realized her voice wasn’t just her own; that showing up, even when she didn’t feel ready, was tied to someone else’s destiny.

Today marks exactly 12 years since my dad passed away. 12 years seems like a long time ago but for me I still feel his presence and his death is something I carry every single day of my life.

Looking back over the years I am grateful for friends and family who have always stood with me and my family.

Every year on this day and around this day, I gather with my friends and family - my village and we remember my dad.

Music, singing and dancing - they soothe the soul and give words to hearts left speechless.

I am grateful to my dad for all the lessons he taught me in life and in death. I always say who I am today is a result of who he was yesterday.

The video playing was taken 6 years ago in my living room where I sat with friends and family in loving memory of my dad. @cynthiamukoko shamwari yerwendo “a journey companion” graciously shared her late mum’s song and we sang it in remembrance of the loved ones we’ve lost a long the way.

Losing a parent is no easy feat. It doesn’t get easier with time and no matter how old you get if you had a great bond with them you will always miss them. Praying for anyone who is on a similar journey too. May you find comfort and peace.

There will always be a DAD shape etched in my heart. To have loved and lost I suppose is better than to not have loved at all.

So Dad, thank you for who you were, the memories, the teachings and the sacrifices. You were my greatest coach and bigger mentor. My advocate. I love and miss you so very dearly ❤️🙏🏿
