There’s nothing really quite like women coming together to nurture, celebrate and pour love into one another.

To be seen and reminded of the beauty and strength we have within us, especially in the moments when we might have a harder time seeing it ourselves.

This pregnancy has asked a little more of me, and somewhere along the way, I think I lost touch with some of that feminine strength and confidence I felt so deeply the first time around. But on this day, surrounded by women I really admire and love, I was reminded that our strength isn’t always found in how much we can carry, but sometimes in allowing ourselves to be cared for too.

I’m incredibly grateful for the love and thoughtfulness that went into this beautiful mother’s blessing. For the laughs, tears, the words, the flowers, the beautiful food, the sweetest gifts and the chance to simply show up and receive all that love.

And especially to my @chanelmcw who insisted on taking this on and putting it together and made this day happen while having so much on her own plate. Your thoughtfulness means more than you know 🤍

Feeling very loved, lucky and so grateful for this small and mighty village of women. 🌸❤️ by @nashistar

Kevin’s birthday, our Ulu family, the happiest little kids — and one of our last adventures as a family of three.

One of those weekends we’ll wish we could live all over again. 🤍 by @nashistar

A sunday in the life of Mars ☀️ by @nashistar

We said no big party this year.
Then remembered it was his last birthday as our only child and abandoned that plan 😂

So we gave our breakdancing, music-loving little drummer boy his own festival.

TOUR TWO MARS 🤘🏼🥁
One afternoon. One tiny headliner. A whole lotta people who love him.

Big thanks to all the tagged vendors and entertainers who made this all happen on very short notice! And thank you @brandseedcreative for capturing the day perfectly 📸 by @nashistar

Two years of Mars 🤎
Two years of watching his little soul reveal itself to us piece by piece.

And what a little person he is 🤎

He’s empathetic in a way that still catches me off guard. And hilarious-genuinely, intentionally hilarious! Curious and with the memory of an elephant. The places we’ve been, the people he’s met, something you told him months ago that you assumed he’d forgotten… nope. Filed away 😄

He’s so intelligent, but it’s his emotional intelligence that amazes me the most. He’s currently monster truck obsessed. He flips them, wheelies them, knows them all- but my favorite thing he does is carefully group them into threes, then proudly call me over “Mama, look! A family” 🥹

And then there is music.

I don’t know how else to describe it except that Mars doesn’t just like music. He feels it.
With his whole little soul.
He hears a song and his entire body responds. He drums. He dances. He sings his little heart out. He remembers the melody and lyrics and asks for his favorite songs over and over and over again (currently all by either Bruno Mars, Cold Play or Lady Gaga) A sound in a song will stop him in his tracks, he’ll point to his ear and tell us what instrument he hears. Watching him find something that brings him that much joy has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

These are little snapshots of all the Marses we’ve gotten to know along the way- versions of him that existed for a fleeting moment before becoming the next. And together, they brought us here. To two. To him.

And the most incredible part is knowing that we’ve barely met him yet.
There is still so much of Mars we haven’t gotten to know yet- So many things he’ll love. So many things that will make him laugh. Songs he hasn’t heard yet. Places he hasn’t seen. People he hasn’t met ..
And we get to be here for it.
What a privilege.
Happy 2nd birthday, Marsy boy

What a weekend. 🤍

So much love, happy tears, wholesome family time, and the very surreal honor of getting to stand beside two people I love and officially marry them. 🥹
I said during the ceremony that love is a choice we keep making — to show up for one another, to keep choosing each other through every version of who we become. This weekend felt like such a beautiful reminder of that in more ways than one.
Josh + Camille, we would have traveled any number of miles to celebrate you. What a privilege to have had the best seat in the house for the beginning of this chapter. 🤍🖤🤍🖤

Finding women who are walking through the same season of life, who still make the effort to show up for one another, has been one of motherhood’s greatest gifts to me.

Even after a week of sick kiddos, being on 4 hours of sleep, and everything else that comes with this beautiful, chaotic season... they still ALWAYS make the effort.
Because filling our cups isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.

Great food, great conversations, too much laughter and a full moon overhead 🌕

Life with little ones is busy, but the friendships worth keeping deserve a place on the calendar too ✨ by @nashistar
