🎸 Jukebox Live
August 29

✂️ Tosca
October 8 & 10
Puccini's most cinematic thriller. A love story under siege in 1800s Rome. Stunning hand-painted Italian sets, a corrupt police chief, and a double-cross that ends the only way it can.

🦸 Fortuna the Time Bender vs. The Schoolgirls of Doom
November 13, 14 & 15
A comic book opera. Eclectic orchestration. Three minions named Sandy, Candy, and Mandy. Nothing like this has ever been on our stage.
The production of Fortuna the Time Bender vs. the Schoolgirls of Doom received funding from OPERA America's Next Stage Grants.

💍 The Marriage of Figaro
April 15 & 17
Mozart's most beloved comedy, back for the first time in a decade. The sequel to The Barber of Seville, with powdered wigs, Marie Antoinette maximalism, and two women who are smarter than everyone else in the room.

Drama. Romance. Doom. And one unforgettable summer night.

Meet Keri Alkema, Nashville Opera's Chief Strategy and Operations Officer, and the person who keeps all of us pointed in the same direction.

Ask her to pick a favorite opera and she'll say any one with great singers, directors, and musicians. Spoken like someone who loves every person in the building.

Her favorite Nashville spot: anywhere with her hubs, her friends, and Lulu ( yes, Keri is our Chief Vibes Officer's mommy).

When she’s not leading the team, Keri is in the audience at any live performance she can find, out on Middle Tennessee’s lakes and trails, tasting her way through Nashville, or helping out with local animal rescues. And then there’s the yarn. She brings it home from every trip, turning each project into a travel souvenir, and her happy place is Bliss Yarns.

We're so lucky to have her. 🧶🐾 by @nashvilleopera

The stage at Opera on the Mountain faces the trees this year, showing you Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory in a whole new way, with live music filling the mountain as night falls and the stars come out overhead.
If you've been before, you'll see Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory from a new angle.

If you haven't, this is a good year to start: live opera, a night sky overhead, and a stage setup with a special view.

Lawn tickets and reserved seats are both available.

John Hoomes describes our comic book superhero opera as opera meets the Marvel comic universe meets the Naked Gun movies.
He picked it for this season, so we'll take his word for it.
Fortuna the Time Bender can stretch time, and she uses that power to clean up a town called Ville. Then the villainous Headmaster rolls in with his trio of musical minions, Sandy, Candy, and Mandy, the Schoolgirls of Doom.
Jason Powell wrote the story and the music. John's favorite thing about it is that there's no deep message to unpack. It's just funny.
Jessica Sandidge stars as Fortuna in our studio at The Noah Liff Opera Center, where the front row sits about six feet from the performers.

Time is about to get weird.

Meet Fortuna. She can stretch time itself, which comes in handy when you're up against a philosophy major turned supervillain and his minions Sandy, Candy, and Mandy.

Fortuna the Time Bender vs. The Schoolgirls of Doom is a comic book superhero opera by Jason Powell, with a score that swings from opera and Broadway to Gilbert & Sullivan and soft 80s pop.

Opera on the Mountain returns in partnership with Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory on Friday, November 6, and you can hear it from a blanket on the lawn with the night sky overhead.

Live music. A starry night. An only-in-Nashville evening.

The stage faces the trees this year, which gives the night a setting you haven't seen. New VIP tables put you close to the stage or up higher, where the performance and the sky share one view.

Bring your own food and drinks, and settle in for an evening of incredible music.

Rain outside. Drama inside.

Grab your umbrella and join Nashville Opera for Tosca tonight. Once you’re inside, settle in for an evening of unforgettable music and powerful storytelling.

Puccini wrote some of the most thrilling music in all of opera, and hearing it live with a full orchestra in Jackson Hall is something no recording can match.

One final performance, at 7:30 PM in TPAC's Jackson Hall. If you've been on the fence, tonight is your chance.

🎟️ Final tickets at link in bio. We look forward to welcoming you!

Swipe to see Soprano Brittany Olivia Logan effortlessly capture both the elegance and innocence of Floria Tosca.

Her Tosca is jealous, yes, but she also sees beauty everywhere and believes the world is good. She’s devout and trusting, a woman who has lived for art and love. That makes it all the more shattering when Scarpia pushes her to take matters into her own hands.

Tomorrow night is your last chance to see it.

Swipe and watch SeungHyeon Baek become Tosca’s sadistic Baron Scarpia.

SeungHyeon Baek knows that Scarpia walks a delicate line. In one reality, he’s a noble officer of the law. In another, he’s a terrifying villain. The scariest part is how easily he slips between the two.

(Don’t worry. Offstage, he couldn’t be nicer.)

See him unnerve everyone in Jackson Hall one last time this Saturday.

If this tenor seems right at home in this role, there’s a reason. Ben Gulley has sung Mario before, and it shows. Somewhere between the headshot and the stage, he becomes a painter willing to risk everything for the love of his life and for Rome.

There’s an ease in how he wears the painter’s passion for Tosca. Then he opens his mouth, and you understand why Puccini gave Mario some of the most beautiful music in the opera.

One more chance to hear him live this Saturday, October 10 at TPAC's Jackson Hall.
