Who am I? My name is Nataly — I’m a scientist, chemist, and environmental engineer, and also a mother of two little kids.
Why knitting? I learned to knit from my mom and to crochet from my grandmother when I was about 7–8 years old. Over the years, I moved between knitting, crochet, cross-stitching, jewellery making, and needle felting — until life (and a PhD) got very busy.
In 2020, everything came back to me in a small mountain cabin in Norway. Fresh air, mountains, sheep, coffee… and a basket of knitting. I bought some yarn and needles, sat on the balcony overlooking a mountain lake, and started knitting again. My hands remembered instantly. That evening, I made an ear warmer and wore it on a mountain walk the next day.
Since then, knitting has become part of my everyday life. It’s therapeutic, grounding, and especially precious after becoming a mom. I put my phone away, slow down, and let my hands do the work. by @nasivfiberarts

I finished test-crocheting this amazing #alpinestitch cardigan from @hookedbycille 😍
Thank you so much for allowing me to do this test crochet :) It was a great first experience as a tester!
Now just wait till my daughter is big enough to wear it sometime in the fall 🍂

I looove this top 💚🍋‍🟩
It was fun working on it :) though, one row with 36 bubbles was exhausting 😆 but definitely worth it!
Last picture is before blocking. The fabric stretched 3cm in width and 3cm in length, but I did pretty aggressive wet blocking and stretching. I might add an i-cord to the armholes for the next summer season 😄

Here is an interesting insight.

I am standing now with one leg in an online business and another leg in a creative fiber arts space. Here are the reactions of two crowds on AI topic 🤖 (from my observations)

Business owners: «Bring AI! AI changes the world, AI is bigger than Internet was in the 90s»

Creative folks in knitting and crochet communities: «F AI! No AI! Ban AI!» «AI uses too much water and resources and was developed unethically» etc etc.

I am somewhere in between those statements. I see the opportunities and possibilities, but I also see a lot of harm it does.

Where do you stand on this matter?

Do not be me 😂🥴 Pay attention to your yarn choice for every specific design :) This yarn has good memory and holds ribbing really well, so I need to do changes to the pattern 🤪

Also, look at my flat knitting rowing out! I swear, it looks even worse on video 😅 Oh well, blocking should fix it.
