Plot twist: I don’t play- by @nastybilly_

17 years of dancing and I’d never competed (or performed) solo.. until now 🩵

I guess I always had excuses: “I’m not ready yet”, “I can’t choreograph”, “I’m going to embarrass myself”but I’m glad I showed up this time. And I’m glad it was salsa — a genre I’m not as familiar with (started Aug 2023) BUT find one of the most enjoyable 🤪

Was I nervous? Definitely… Most of it was muscle memory and felt like a blur- While part of me wishes I’d been more present to enjoy that 1.5 minutes, I’ve learnt that I can trust my body to do what I trained it to do 🌱

I can’t express how grateful I am to everyone who has been part of this journey:
🙏🏻Thank you @garyfoo_official for organising this competition that gave me the opportunity for this milestone 💎
💃 My salsa parents @kaychon1843 and @teegrace007 for teaching me almost everything I know so far, during my 2.5 years learning salsa at @smucaderaslatinas
❤️‍🔥 All my friends who came to support (it means the world that you were there to celebrate this milestone with me)
👯‍♀️ Fluffy sister @zarawwrr for encouraging me towards the competition and even helping me with the choreography when I ran out of ideas 💡

I guess I checked “dance competition” off my bucket list 🤪 ☑️ Not too sure what’s next but… Here’s to moments that push you past fear and into growth 🥂 💎

A friend once told Isabelle Lim, @nastybilly_, she wasn’t cut out to be a model.

She kept going anyway.

Today, her world moves between modelling, salsa, content and study, shaped less by fitting into one identity and more by giving herself permission to explore them all.
