I have often described my protagonist Eilidh as a form of wish fulfilment - a dream would be to traverse Scotland and beyond tasting, writing and talking about whisky (sans any corpses in barrels or anywhere else for that matter please 😂). I didn't imagine that by writing this book I would then make this wish come true!!

These two events in Glasgow and Edinburgh are particularly special because they are celebrating whisky from the whisky region my book is set in and my heart belongs to - Campbeltown, plus they feature pairings with cheese and world-renowned @fetchachocolates, all led by Campeltown expert and local @lifeofawhiskygal ✨🥃

Winner gets a place at the 2027 Scottish National Slam Championships, and they and the two runners up get a few other goodies too.

Week ending Sunday 20th September 2026

Lots of work, editing, and having a blast this week.

@bloodyscotland is the best blinkin festival ever. I had ever such a grand time.

The goat picture was being thrown out and I rescued it from the bins on a walk home. What a score!

I love living near the Tay, always something new to see, and this week there were swans and signets doing the flumes and rapids.

*I have been longlisted for the @saltiresociety @saltirebookawards Fiction Book of the Year!! 🥳
*A deeeelightful trip to Tain to give a talk as part of @stduthac at @toulvaddie_distillery - also got taken behind the scenes at @glasstormstudio with a furnace at 1250 degrees Celsius 😱🔥The make a lot of whisky bottles for special editions (e.g. 50 year olds), do check em out. Plus a coastal run, love taking my running shoes out for a spin in a new place to catch the views. by @natajayne
