This new piece titled “Lashed Lattice” will be in fantastic company @ruthanngallery in “Requited Configurations” opening this Friday, May 1 from 6–8pm. Curated by @wittsartRequited ConfigurationsA response or return to love.An arrangement of elements in a particular form, figure or combination.This exhibition offers sculpture in a variety of forms and combinations. Feelings are not always reciprocated in life, but sculptures generously requite us with their vibrations of energy, mass, volume and surface. When experienced in person they can create awe, appreciation and a subjective sense of physicality, leading us to something curious or unforeseen within ourselves.The artists in this exhibition work with three-dimensional forms in varying and unexpected arrangements, presenting us with visual systems to navigate along with their interconnected loopholes. This 2019 collage emerged from my observations of a discarded planter that I often passed in Long Island City on the way to work. Scroll to see the planter both empty and then filled with the trash of passersby. Thinking about the personification of objects and also their open ended potential. The planter is of course no longer there so these images are all that remain. by @natalie_beall
