Since @nische.nostalgia launched a few days ago, I’ve felt so incredibly supported. Every message, comment, share, follow, and order has reminded me how lucky I am to have the best people in my corner.

Packaging my very first order was one of those moments where everything suddenly felt real. It made me stop and reflect on everything that went into bringing this little dream to life, from sourcing pieces and researching their stories to photographing every item, designing the website, and building it from scratch.

Before the launch, Ben said something that really stuck with me: “Even if you don’t sell a single thing, creating something that brings you this much joy has already made it worth it.” I don’t think I fully understood what he meant at the time, but I do now.

Getting to share something I’ve dreamed about for so long and seeing you connect with it has already been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.

If you’ve been to our apartment over the past year, you’ve probably wondered why there’s a clothing rack in the living room, packaging supplies everywhere, and a pink Razr phone that seemingly lives on the kitchen counter. There was a reason for all of it.

I’ve been obsessed with early 2000s fashion for as long as I can remember. About a year ago, I started searching for the exact pieces I admired as a kid. The ones I’d seen in movies and TV, on my favorite celebrities, and in the pages of every teen magazine I could get my hands on. One piece became ten. Then twenty. Before long, every corner of our apartment had turned into a storage unit, photo studio, boutique, and shipping station, all wrapped into one.

Every time I sourced an item, it felt like the little version of me was finally getting to own the pieces she spent years dreaming about. I wanted to create a place where other people could experience that feeling too.

That’s what inspired me to create @nische.nostalgia, a carefully curated online vintage shop dedicated to celebrating the iconic early 2000s fashion that shaped so many of our childhoods. Each piece is authentic vintage, hand-sourced by me, and one of a kind, with new collections released throughout the year.

The irony of @hilaryduff calling it “The Lucky Me Tour” when I’m the one who left feeling like the luckiest girl in the world. 🦋

When we were little, our bedroom walls were covered in Hilary Duff posters. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of my sister and me choreographing dance routines to songs from Metamorphosis in our living room. I never could have imagined that more than 20 years later, we’d be standing side by side, scream-singing those same songs back to her. It felt like the biggest full circle moment and the sweetest gift to the little versions of us. Her music gave us so many memories growing up, and now it’s given us one more. My heart is so full.
