This photo was taken May 11th, 2025. On June 2nd, 2025, I was granted my second patent for the @musehairpro Hidden Bead Method.

Back in 2021, right after I got certified in beaded wefts, I kept running into the same three problems with every single client. IYKYK.

• The corner of the weft would never lay flat past day two. Always that one corner, lifting.
• Tension on the front beads.
• Beads popping above the weft after a few weeks of wear.

The idea came to me on a beach in Florida. (New ideas only ever show up in the shower or on the beach, apparently.) A few days later I had one client who was willing to let me test a “new way” I’d been thinking through. @vukpalaj96 — this one’s for you.

Less than a week later she texted me: “You fixed it. My corner isn’t lifting.” And because of how the row was stitched her end beads had zero tension too. Two problems, gone.

Then I went after the third one, and that’s what became our secret stitch technique that seals the beads in.

Honestly, I did it because I was tired of letting my clients down and watching my team feel anxious behind the chair about their installs…finishing a row and wondering if it would hold, or bracing for a text three days later saying something wasn’t right. I don’t like uncertainty. I like guarantees. So do our clients.

Now the process is black and white. It just works. There’s a reason behind every single thing we teach, and once you understand the why, you start wondering why we were ever taught to stitch in wefts the way we have been for so long.

I can’t find the words for what it feels like to look at this picture. Just over 5 years in.

Nobody tells you how much owning a business stretches you. As a person, and as a leader. People talk about what it does to you, but you don’t actually understand it until you’re in it.
Somewhere along the way I realized this is where I belong.

Building the systems, the structure, the operation, so everything runs like a well oiled machine. And then the other half of it, finding the right people to bring it all to life. Figuring out what each person on my team is truly great at and letting them do more of that thing. That’s the part I love most.
And somehow, it all works. I never thought it would be this good. But it is, and I’m so proud of what we’ve built.

@jessbehindthedesk, my sister-in-law and the MVP of this entire operation. She’s behind the wheel every single day. I just get to be the Google Maps telling her where we’re headed.

And to my right hands, @behind_sarahs_chair_ @blondingandbonding @manesbymillie thank you for every back and forth conversation. Whether it’s me asking your advice when I need a 2nd opinion on something I’m working on or you asking me advice on what to do next in your career to get to the next level…just knowing us people in the salon that have been at this for awhile can all come to each other and ask for advice, help, or to collab on an idea just makes it that much better.

Every person on my them is better at something than I am.
Turns out the secret was never doing more myself. It was finding people better than me and getting out of their way. by @natashadjelaj

Twenty years behind the chair. Twenty years doing what I love.

The first fifteen building my skills. The last five building something bigger…my own salon, my own team, my own hairline, my own vision.

And today, I’m walking away from the chair for the last time.
Not because I stopped loving it. But because I love what’s next even more…and honestly? I have never been more excited about anything in my life.

Over the past few years, something shifted in me. I realized the part that lights me up most isn’t standing behind a client, it’s the systems, the strategy, the product creation, the messy problem-solving it takes to get from point A to point B. It’s discovering something new and bringing it straight back to my team. It’s building products and tools that make their work better, their clients happier, and their businesses stronger. Do I have a formal business degree? Absolutely not. Have I ever had any formal training? Not even a little. But building this…figuring it out, failing, and figuring it out again fuels my soul in a way I can’t explain.

I’ve come to accept something that took me a long time to see clearly: I’m the only one holding myself and my team back. I am the bottleneck.

My identity for twenty years has been hairstylist. And I will always be proud of that. But today I’m stepping into a role that fits who I’m becoming…one that will serve my clients, my team, and this business in a much bigger way than I ever could from behind the chair.

And honestly? Just knowing I’ll have extra time back in my week has already changed everything. The mental bandwidth alone has given me so much room to think, to dream, and to actually start building what’s been living in my head. I already have so many new projects in the works and I cannot wait to share them with you.

To my team, thank you. Thank you for trusting this process and allowing me to make this move with so much confidence. I know without a doubt that stepping into this role will only make things better for you, for our clients, and for everything we’re building together.

New pic, quick life update.

Three weeks into retiring from behind the chair and honestly wondering how I ever managed it all before. So much has gotten done, so many incredible hires made on the backend, and the focus I feel now confirms I made the right call. Still testing new products to offer our guests in the meantime as well. June is looking like it’s going to be a whirlwind…last day of school activities & parties, 2 of my kids birthday parties, Muse photoshoot, Meraki Pool Party, new Meraki website in the making, dance recitals, cheer tryouts, football tryouts, enrolled in a 12 week course to help me grow my business’s even more, a girls trip to Charleston…but I have a feeling this summer is going to be unforgettable. This is my golden era. by @natashadjelaj

I know it’s been a while since I’ve shared much of my personal life here, so here’s your yearly reminder that I’m still here…just living a little more and posting a little less.🩷

Life has been really good lately. More travel, meaningful business growth, and learning what balance actually looks like for me.

This week, my family and I spent time in New York City. The girls were set on experiencing Christmas in the city, and let’s be honest… they run the house 🤣
