Happy launch day to the #cygnustop from @sa_sews 🥳🎉🍾

I have been coveting this pattern for MONTHS since the moment I saw Sasha first tease it. So I was so excited when she picked me to be one of the testers.

This pattern is the ultimate cool girl/person uniform! I love the huge structured sleeves, curved neckline/shaping and the covered buttons make it feel so high end.

This was my first time making my own covered buttons and I used a kit that I bought at the @austincreativereuse when visiting my bestie this month.

Fabric is a cotton gaberdine from @sewtospeak

I made a straight size 4 with no mods, and I am 5’4”, with the following measurements! high bust: 32” bust:34”, waist: 29”

Pattern review: The fit is beautiful! And includes extensive instructions for adjusting for different cup sizes, and heights. The top is unlined and perfect to wear as a top or a light jacket if you size up. It also comes together surprisingly fast. I sewed the whole thing in 2 short sewing sessions.

I am also tempted to make another version in a wool after seeing some of the other incredible tester versions!

My biggest sewing goal this year was to make my first quilt!

Thanks to the most lovely friends I met at Stitch Night @sewtospeak I finally got up the courage to tackle quilting with their guidance and support.

The part I was most nervous about was choosing colors. But it turned out to be one of the most fun part! I highly recommend finding some friends who will hem and haw about different color combos with you for hours!

This is the #wallflowerquilt pattern from @penandpaperpatterns

I used a big combo of fabrics from @sewtospeak and opted to stitch in the ditch.

I went rogue from the pattern and chose to do an all cream background. And I’m so happy with the result!

I truly learned so much in the process. Here are my biggest takeaways:
- Spray starch is awesome
- You can cut multiple strips at once 🤯 I cut each piece one by one and it took 12+ hours lol
- Big ruler is a game changer (6”x24”)
- Color catchers!
- Accuracy matters and 1/8” off is a big deal lol. Use the 1/4” guide foot!

Me Made May is over, but honestly I’m still in the groove and so here I am sharing my memade OOTD that I wore to go teach sewing class this morning 🥰✨

Heritage overalls from @sewnwithgrit currently in testing but coming soon! I made a size D and they are perfection. But I’ll update when the pattern goes live if any changes are made regarding sizing :)

This has been such a fun month! From visiting my sewing BFF @sew.like.honey to fabric swaps at @sewtospeak to just following my creativity and sewing what feels fun. I feel like I’ve really leaned back into my personal style and what I love about sewing.

I’m excited to bring this creative energy into JUNE. My absolute favorite month of the year 🫶✨

Me Made May fit from yesterday!

My style has always felt very elusive but Memade May alongside some Ai style exploration I did with @sew.like.honey while in Philly this month, has made me start to nail it down. For example this jacket and my leather maple bag that I’ve been wearing almost every day feel so me. I love the way they are worn and have distinct texture. I also LOVE this pink shirt. I like the bold color combo but a quirky element like leopard pants is essential. I don’t have one word to describe my personal style but I am starting to understand the elements that make it feel like me. by @natdellas

I made size small and opted to do a binding for the neck rather than the neckband since this knit was very low stretch percentage. by @natdellas
