EXCITING NEWS!!! Mya and I have taken the step to move to the beach! I am very fortunate to announce that I will be working at THE Underground Strength Gym @zevenesh @undergroundstrengthgym in Manasquan, NJ. Coach Zach has given me an amazing opportunity to refine and expand myself as a coach. I can’t thank Zach enough for his hospitality, knowledge, and commitment to bettering the industry. A true pioneer of the game. Our time in Ohio was beyond amazing. We were blessed with so many amazing friends and opportunities that came into our lives. I want to thank everyone that was a part of that process. Our connections within the Ohio strength, track, and coaching communities will be cherished for a lifetime. This next jump is both exciting and scary, but as @mbpowercenter said to me “if it’s a little scary, it’s worth it”. Which fired me up!! Here’s to the next chapter! @_trashboat__ @zevenesh @undergroundstrengthgym @paxton_titus by @nate_stout1
Deadlifts vs Heavy Chain! Worked to a top set of 3 today with 6 plates and 6 chain (585lbs + 120lbs of chain). We like to put the chain between the legs rather than on the sleeves. The chain weight in the center kills a lot of the bar whip, making it a bit harder off the floor. This transfers very well to deadlifts with straight weight. When the chains are placed on the sleeves, the opposite occurs. Bodyweight down from 270 to 235 and strength is holding!! I am in good hands with @the_real_gsix Great crew today as always! @vinny__lifts_ @luke_buza @zevenesh @_trashboat__ by @nate_stout1
High volume RDLs with chain after Max Effort Squats!! Full video on my YouTube! by @nate_stout1
Incredible training today. The bar was stacked with Jacksons, deep dish Yorks, and Iron Islands. So much history on the bar. You could feel the Strength radiating from it!! by @nate_stout1
Happy Birthday to one of my top 30 favorite Training Partners! @nate_stout1 The above video is a clip taken from Nate’s YouTube. Talking about the art of training and evolving into being an artists in the Training Hall! It really fired me up! Nate is a rare creature: He was warned in college not to hang out with me because I was into strange things like Body-Tempering, Psychedelics, and Westside Barbell. All the things he happened to enjoy as well 😂 Well, I’ve helped the boy a lot since then. Maybe I’ve learned from him half as much as he’s learned from me! I’m a fan of all my friends! It’s a blessing to watch Nate continue to become a legendary Strength Coach and have him as a Training Partner! A Light Giver if there ever was one! by @nate_stout1

Winners find a way to do MORE. Stack your wins brick by brick. How many training sessions did you make this week? How many mornings did you get up and have breakfast before you left the house? Did you get eight hours of sleep last night? OK cool, now how many days/weeks in a row have you done it? Did you show up early to your sessions to stretch out and get your mind right so you could attack your session with your full capability? Or is it just another hour that you have to get through? Are you setting small goals and achieving them? Ask yourself these questions and if you’re not checking these boxes, you have work to do. All of these things may seem small and insignificant, but these “small things” turn into Big Things over time. Stack your wins. Brick by Brick. The Pause Squat has been a staple in my squat training. I notice a difference of around 75-100lbs between my pause squat in sleeves vs my comp squat in wraps. Today the pause squat was used as a max effort movement, but I believe the real benefit comes from performing this exercise for repeated effort work. When done correctly, the pause squat will build tremendous torso rigidity and greatly improve your leg drive out of the hole. This is an especially important movement for raw squatters, as it builds hip and adductor strength in the hole that many lifters lack. Perform the pause squat in many different ways. Rotate bars, add accommodating resistance, change the length of the pause. Establish records for each variation and work to break them. Todays Training - Max Effort Lower A. Pause squat - worked to 605x1 B. 1in block DL with stiff bar - 4x5 C1. Hyper 4x25 C2. Belt squat 4x25 C2. Banded abs 4x25 Simple & Effective @undergroundstrengthgym by @nate_stout1
The good morning has played a massive role in my posterior strength. My back is the healthiest it has been in 10 years and our squat & deadlift training continues to improve because of it. For us, good mornings are easier to recover from as compared to a squat or deadlift. Which makes them a movement we can train more frequently. For max effort work, we perform sets of 3 & 5. For volume work (a.k.a. repeated effort) we like performing 4x5-8 with 70-80%. For max effort work we switch the variation every exposure but keep the same variation for 3 waves when performing volume work. If you get stuck, switch up your variations and add more ab work. The good morning is an abdominal exercise in disguise, so if you’re having trouble not folding like a shrimp, chances are that you’re weak there! Our success with the good morning is also accelerated when followed with 4-5 sets of 15-25 reps on the reverse hyper. We aim to use at least 50% of our squat on the reverse hyper and when 4x25 can be achieved, the weight should increase. The good morning / heavy reverse hyper combo is something that I believe every lifter could benefit from! @undergroundstrengthgym @matt_molee @coachbryanpotter @_trashboat__ @_dancolon by @nate_stout1
