Very humbling experience at the @atlartfair this past weekend. Interacting and showing with some of my favorite artists in the same venue right now, would blow my 17 year old mind. The work there was phenomenal! I felt like it alone gave me enough inspiration to paint for years.
It was a pleasure showing alongside brilliant artists @studio_gretchenwagner and @hackenwerth at the SCAD booth🙏🏾
Thank you to everyone that came through in person and helped via social media, y’all’s support means the world🙏🏾. And thank you to @scadartsales and @hugoaguileragomez @amyamyamydavis and @joebushart for allowing me to be apart of this fair, hosting the booth and assisting in connecting me with supporters and even selling “Lil Boat”🙏🏾🙏🏾‼️.

Black American life, memory, and identity live at the heart of Nathan Addley’s practice. Through portraiture, history, family memory, and contemporary symbolism, his paintings carry stories shaped by inheritance and illuminated by possibility. Realism and abstraction move together as everyday objects and the human figure become quiet witnesses to culture, resilience, and legacy.

Each canvas asks what is remembered, what is protected, and what can still be imagined. Honoring overlooked histories, Nathan presents Black figures with dignity, tenderness, authority, and grace. by @nathanaddley
