POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Was holding off until the episode aired to post this.

Last December I booked a role on Stuart Fails To Save The Universe. One line costar. No big whoop but happy for the work.

It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on set, and the biggest shoot I’ve ever been on.

Only had one line but the director, writers, and producers were cracking up at every take.

Best part of the whole thing was my character name. Initially, the role was Medic. A few days before the shoot they ended up giving me a name, Captain Gandy. Which is crazy because that’s my wife’s maiden name. When I told her about it she already knew. Turns out a friend of hers is a writer’s assistant on the show and wrote it for me. I loved that so much. Highlight of the entire shoot!

Then I got news in February the scene was getting cut. Story issue. Total bummer but hey it happens.

Just a couple of days before finding out, the casting director remembered me from Stuart and reached out to my manager to see if I could work on the Netflix show, Leanne. No lines, no real name. Just featured with the cast. But it worked for 3 days so I was happy about that.

Another great experience on set. Leanne is a total sweetheart. First thing she said to me was, “I have a redheaded grandson!” 😆

The casting director is still bringing me in to audition for other shows, and I might get a shot at Stuart season 2.

Who knows? Maybe we haven’t seen the last of Captain Gandy. 🤷‍♂️ taken in Blue Cloud Movie Ranch by @nathanrayclark

Last week marked the seven year passing of Jason Paul De La Rosa.

I can’t say Jason was my best friend. He was my brother. We were thick as thieves back in the day. Sometimes you have people come into your life that are closer than your own blood. That was him. We made each other better. Through good times and bad we had each other’s back.

This was the first time I had ever seen his headstone. I was blown away by how beautiful it is. And the picture on it? That was from Game 1 of the 2014 Western Conference Finals. Spurs vs Thunder. What makes that moment so great, outside of Spurs whooping the Thunder, is it’s the last time I saw him in person. Having a blast with my brother as he shines that million dollar smile.

Wish we could’ve gotten together more often. At the very least, cherish the time you have with others.

Still loved, never forgotten.

Anyway, Here’s to the Spurs winning it all this season. 🏀👍 by @nathanrayclark

So, Spurs lost. Bummer. Just not their year.

But they exceeded everyone’s expectations. Average age of the players is 24 and majority of them had zero playoff experience. They beat some great teams and were able to hang with the best in losses.

The future is bright.

Also, going to a The Toadies concert after a Finals loss helps.

Always next season. Go Spurs Go! by @nathanrayclark

For a moment I thought there was another actor with my name working on @youngandrestlesscbs

Then I thought @michaelfairmantv , who did the episode recap, probably confused me for another redhead.

I was wrong on both accounts. 😆 by @nathanrayclark
