TGIF! Lovely little coffee shop in Blue Mounds after a fun-filled morning petting sanctuary animals. No-frills stop for a good latte, sunny patio, and kind service. Take the trip out to The Opera House in Blue Mounds. 💡 PRO TIP 💡 It’s laidback and lackadaisical on a weekday. Make it even better and bike out! #nativemadisonian by @nativemadisonian

Mickey’s Tavern on Willy. Great tap rotations, great service, and a great location. And they have ‘Sexy Fries’ if you’re a glutton for a bit of spice and truffle oil.
•
💡PRO TIP. Sippin’ Pretty from Odell Brewing. Flavors of Açaí, guava, elderberry, and Himalayan pink sea salt. A subtle sour and super delicious for summer!💡

The Statehouse. Cozy with sweeping views of our frozen Lake Mendota. Often overlooked for Restaurant Week, as it’s hotel-based, but don’t discount this solid venue. Our Server, Luis, was attentive and knowledgeable.

The golden beet soup was so creamy and the crispy artichokes sang. The potatoes were rich with duck fat that lingered with the perfectly tender beef. The baby carrots were super flavorful, almost like a roasted parsnip. And the toffee pudding was just rich with a hint of bourbon.
•
💡PRO TIP. Round out the end of your meal with a cocktail at Augie’s Tavern - just down the hall. It’s a much more lively and casual place to finish. The fresh raspberry gin martini was a nice palate cleanser. Then have your heated underground parking validated💡

Romantic ramen 🤍 We brought one of our favorite MKE restaurants home tonight. Definitely enjoyed the Tonkatsu umami and comfort from this hearty broth on such a cold evening. 🔥🍜 🔥 *Kits available at Metcalfe’s. @redlightramenmke

Thanks, @ardentjustin - you’re amazing! We can’t wait to dine with you in person when this is all over! nativemadisonian© #nativemadisonian taken in Ardent by @nativemadisonian

Madison Sunday BBQ goodness is no longer a secret! Willis’s Soul Kitchen is the new name in town. We’re talking baked and deep fried ribs, stick-to-your-ribs mac-and-cheese, and mustard turnip greens like none other. Weekly menu rotation. Support this small family business - my hospital coworker will thank you, too 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 💡PRO TIP - Check out their FB page for details, but be sure to call in your order quick or you’ll miss a weekly to-go plate - they go fast! Oh, and I was told I could also share that there’s a food truck in the works for future months💡 nativemadisonian© #nativemadisonian taken in Madison, Wisconsin by @nativemadisonian

It’s all about the nutmeg. Pretty thrilled that this holiday I could taste EVERYTHING. Covid wasn’t particularly pleasant over Thanksgiving, but IMO eggnog > turkey anyways. #eggnogforeveryone #covidchristmas2020 #microplaning #kn95facemask taken in Warner Beach Madison by @nativemadisonian

As many of you know, but some don’t, I am a hospital inpatient RN. It’s been a marathon since March and this current Covid spike is scary. Thank you, for wearing a mask, getting a 2020 flu shot, and participating in virtual holidays this year. TIA, your Madison community and health care workers 🤍 #frontlineworker #virtualholidays #madisoncovid #flushot2020 taken in Madison, Wisconsin by @nativemadisonian

Rainy day got you down? Here’s some sunshine in a bowl... GREEK CHICKEN LEMON SOUP! We’re talking hand-pulled rotisserie chicken, bright GRILLED lemon, rice, Greek yogurt dollops, and a touch of dill. Their drive-thru is fast and it’s only $6 for a hearty portion - so stock up! And, of course, their gyros are still a menu staple. Their house made lamb is unparalleled. Get yourselves over to @athensgrillwestport 🍋☔️☀️🥣🍋 by @nativemadisonian

Fall means comfort food (and new recipes - my first attempt at these ‘chops!) Stovetop sour cream and mushroom smothered pork chops. And creamy Yukon hand-mashed potatoes. #digin #settledown #comfortfood #fallishere🍁🍂🍃 taken in Madison, Wisconsin by @nativemadisonian

I JUST missed this awesomeness on my unit from @cafedomestiquemadison , but a huge thank you for the caffeinated sustenance they provided. Any bev that includes Wisco maple syrup and smoked sea salt hits home for me 🙌 ☕️ 🙌🤍🙌☕️🙌 nativemadisonian© #nativemadisonian #pandemic2020 #hospitallife #hospitality #fromtheheart #loveyournurses #rnlife #stayathome #coffeelover #coffee taken in Madison, Wisconsin by @nativemadisonian

👀 When a @beardfoundation restaurant is donated to us front line hospital workers, you notice 👀 (and actually try to sit down for your dinner break!) MEGA thanks to @letoilerestaurant and the @madisonareachefsnetwork for hitting us up! Seriously, the best hospital meal I’ve ever had. Ever. Hands down. ✅ My favorite part was hearing all the raves from my coworkers - and their pronunciation 😆 and awareness of this awesome local restaurant ✅ nativemadisonian© #nativemadisonian #hospitallife #hospitality #fromtheheart #loveyournurses #rnlife #stayathome #jamesbeard #madisonareachefsnetwork taken in L'Etoile Restaurant by @nativemadisonian

👏👏👏 It’s the little gestures, too! We hospital workers remember and appreciate EVERYONE and EVERY restaurant/business in our community that is fueling us! Talk about positive PR 👏👏👏 Thank you, to the FOREVER AWESOME @gailambrosiuschocolatier who paired up with one of our MDs to bring every floor in the hospital chocolates. Because that’s the right kind of pandemic fuel 🍫 ⛽️ 🍫 nativemadisonian© #nativemadisonian #gailambrosiuschocolatier #madisonmade #pandemic #pandemic2020 #hospitallife #hospitality #fromtheheart #loveyournurses #rnlife #stayathome taken in Gail Ambrosius Chocolatier by @nativemadisonian
