The very thing that cost me my job is exactly what got me hired for another.

I am officially a paralegal for one of California’s leading post-conviction law firms and non-profits.

A few years ago, I landed what I thought was my dream job as head of A&R for a record label… Only to have it taken away because of my husbands @kaalanxwalker trial and the mainstream media attention surrounding it. On Christmas Eve 2021, I was fired over the phone, terminated for simply standing by the man I love. Within four months, I “lost” both my career and my husband, who was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 50 years to life. It was the darkest time of my life, but I never lost faith.

Instead of letting the system defeat me, I decided to fight back. I spent years studying his case, dissecting every detail, and ultimately became a certified paralegal after finishing school in 2024. I’ve came to realize, my firsthand experience with the justice system, once seen as a liability, has become my greatest strength. I now get to fight for families just like mine, for those the system has failed.

Here, I don’t have to hide my story. I get to use my pain, my knowledge, and my passion to help others regain their freedom. Not only am I advocating for my husband, but I’m also working to reunite families who have been torn apart by injustice.

God revealed my true purpose through this journey, and though the road has been painful, I trust that everything is unfolding as He intended. I am exactly where I’m meant to be.

Guys I’m so emotional 🥹🥹🥹 I cannot believe the number of people who came forward and took the time to write a letter of support for my husband @KaalanXWalker as we fight to get his case picked up pro bono for a chance at having his conviction overturned.

Unless you’ve been in my shoes, you’ll never fully understand the level of gratitude I have. God has blessed Kaalan and I with some pretty remarkable people who love and care for us so much, that they have taken the time out of their busy lives to help contribute to giving Kaalan a chance to reclaim his freedom.

Thank you God for the incredible outpouring of love and support we have been receiving. Good news is coming, I am speaking that over us today and everyday until he is back home 🤍

Your twenties were never meant to last forever. You lived them, loved through them, learned through them, survived them.

Thirty isn’t scary. It’s earned 🤍 It’s almost unbelievable looking back at the girl I was at 20.

She had absolutely no idea what the next ten years were going to ask of her.

She didn’t know how deeply she would love. How much she would lose. How many times life would change without asking her permission. She didn’t know how many times she would have to choose faith when absolutely nothing in front of her made sense.

She didn’t know how strong she was going to have to become.

My twenties weren’t perfect. They weren’t easy and they certainly didn’t look anything like I imagined they would when I first entered them.

But they were mine.
