It’s officially fall and we want to give our beneficial insects a place to cozy up for winter! 🍂

Temperatures have started dropping here in Zone 8b, so we decided to turn some old bee boxes into overwintering habitats for our garden allies. We used leaves, pine needles, pine cones, bamboo shoots, and stacked wood to create sheltered spaces for beneficial insects like ladybugs and lacewings to ride out the colder months. 🐞

We also applied our Triple Blend Beneficial Nematodes to the surrounding soil to help target soil-dwelling pests and their larvae, helping reduce pest populations before next growing season.

Looking for a more natural way to manage pests? 🐞🐞🐞

Ladybugs are valuable garden allies because they feed on a variety of soft-bodied pests, including aphids. Both adult ladybugs and their larvae are predators, helping keep pest populations in check.

Sometimes the best garden helpers are the tiniest ones!

Green lacewings may be delicate, but they’re powerful allies in the garden ✨

Adults help support the next generation by laying eggs near pest activity, while their larvae are known as fierce predators of aphids, whiteflies, thrips, mealybugs, and more 🙌

What if pest control didn’t have to mean a bunch of harsh chemicals?

Ladybugs are natural predators that love to snack on aphids and other common soft-bodied pests, making them a helpful addition to the garden when pest populations start getting out of hand.

Instead of reaching for harsh chemicals, try working with nature and letting the good bugs do some of the work for you 🐞✨
