I recently returned from a two-week solo trip to Alaska, where I traveled the state to photograph as many wildlife species as possible—and it truly was the trip of a lifetime.

One of the highlights was visiting Lake Clark National Park. Photographing Alaska’s brown bears has always been a dream of mine, and the experience exceeded every expectation. This coastal grizzly spent the morning walking the beach, successfully digging for clams in the tidal mudflats.

Being this close to wild bears and witnessing how completely unbothered they were by our presence was something I’ll never forget. It was an unforgettable experience and one I feel incredibly grateful to have had. I am feeling so incredibly blessed to be able to experience something like this in my lifetime & very emotional.

Spring with red fox kits has always been a dream of mine… finally getting to capture moments like these feels unreal. I watched quietly as these kits wrestled and chased each other around in some beautiful spring flowers and dandelions. Such precious moments to witness in a short amount of time & cherish forever. These photographs speak 1000 words 🦊🌱🪻✨

My very first fox encounter was a beautiful Red Fox peering directly into my soul. A moment I felt was very emotional & magical for me. I’ve really been wanting to photograph a red fox & I am so happy & relieved to say that I did not find this fox, this fox found me. 🦊✨🙏📷🌅

I saw this Semipalmated Plover struttin’ around on the beach loving Alaska’s endless summer day light, which gives it more time to feed. One of my favorite things to capture is the detailed reflection in an animals eye & this beautiful shore bird worked with me to get the shots I wanted!

The Alaskan state bird - The Willow Ptarmigan a male in his gorgeous breeding colors.

Arctic animals have always fascinated me. It’s always been intriguing how the wildlife survive the brutal & harsh climates in the winter. This past winter this specific region had temperatures up to -50°. I’ve noticed a trend with alot of the smaller arctic animals.. their furry feet! 🥹 These feet act like snowshoes in the winter and as insulation. They even change their plumage to all white by the end of fall. Such an iconic bird that I was so happy to see in Denali National Park. ❄️✨🪶

Humpback whales bubble net feeding… 🫧🐋

No words could describe the feeling I had watching a group of humpback whales surface together to feed. Bubble-net feeding is a highly skilled and coordinated behavior that is learned and passed down between whales.

But what exactly is bubble-net feeding?

A group of humpback whales come together to work as a team. They dive beneath a school of fish and blow bubbles in a circular pattern, creating a “net” that traps and concentrates the fish. Then, the whales swim upward through the middle of the bubble net with their mouths wide open, feeding together as they break through the surface.

The best part of it all was actually hearing one of the whales communicating underwater, helping coordinate when the group would rise to the surface. Hearing the whale communicating made me extremely emotional and hit me very hard. It was one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. 🥹🐋
