Slam poet, storyteller, and teacher. I mix history and politics with rhythm and diction into a lil' something I like to call "pulp non-fiction."

You are lucky that you have never heard the screaming, or smelled the burnt flesh - but you need to know the origins of the logos that you wear up on your chest.

This caveman is biting the bullet and learning to use social media effectively this year -- wish me luck!

I'm really happy with how @erieslam is turning out.

I was trimming up footage from Vol. 3 this weekend, and I had so much fun spotting the little smile that most poets have when they finish up their piece.

Sometimes, it's pride - like, "Yes, I did it!"

Sometimes, it's relief - like, "I survived it!"

Sometimes, it's surprise - like, "I actually made it!"

Whether it's driven by one of these emotions, a mix of them, or something else, I got so many good vibes out of spotting those smiles as I worked, and sharing photos of them with the poets.

My excellent BIL @gate.eyes snagged a ton of great photos, too; I'll be putting them out all over the Erie Slam socials, but I wanted to share this one of myself here.

Vol. 4 is Saturday, April 25 - with some luck, maybe you'll see some @pghpoetry or @pureinkpoetry poets there... by @naughtya.mouse

I had a great time last night - I hit up the @poetrypgh in Millvale with @wuji_world and @nieceynicole86 for the @pghpoetry slam.

It was a fun venue with great poets, and our Erie crew took two of the top spots - Niecey tied for third, and I took first place!

Thanks to hosts @dougnuhf and @bambi_beth for an excellent time. We'll be back soon! taken in Millvale, Pennsylvania by @naughtya.mouse

I want to invite you to a free performance workshop aimed at helping you take your poetry from the printed page to performing it onstage.

Wednesday, February 18th, at @groundedprintshop on Cherry Street, from 600 to 730 pm.

The workshop is free; water will be provided, and donations gladly accepted.

Bring your notebook, and some poems, because you'll be able to put these tips into practice that night -- and hopefully, you'll be inspired to come out and share your light on the mic at Erie Slam, Vol. 2 - Friday the 20th at @Kdsplace814! by @naughtya.mouse

Thank you to the 40-plus people who came out on a record-setting cold night to share in one another's light -- and hear some fire on the mic!

I'm so grateful to the 11 poets and 5 judges who stepped up to try something new, and bring slam back to Erie - and also to @kdfinnegan for providing the venue!

I'm looking forward to the next one -- hope to see you back at @kdsplace814 on February 20th! taken in KD'S PLACE by @naughtya.mouse

Here goes something - I designed these to show up in full landscape format, and I'm hoping you can scroll through them like a comic book of sorts.

Please let me know what you think - and stay tuned! by @naughtya.mouse

Ive got this theory that Erie ought to have a bumping slam poetry scene.

Follow along, and let your friends know, so we can build an Erie Slam Poetry Show! taken in Erie, Pennsylvania by @naughtya.mouse

Pictures from my feature at @vibe_flagstaff back in July, with the illustrious @joshuawiss hosting, and a gaggle of talented poets in attendance!

I was fortunate to feature in Flag, then in Prescott last month, and this Friday, I'll be featuring at the @phxpoetryslambybjam.

Please come on through, and give me the chance to peel your wig back with some pulp non-fiction!

So I turned 38 on Friday last week, and it gave me an excuse to reflect on how damn grateful I am.

Grateful for my body, because this meatsuit has been through some shit lately, and it's still kicking.

Grateful for my family, my friends, and my partner; for a life filled with joy, and meaning, and art.

I get to share space with giants - with people that I admire and respect, who have bigass hearts and brains and spirits, regardless of their physical size.

I get to be a part of a community that reminds me to stay open, and to feel; I get to witness brilliance, and I get to share my own light and be seen in turn.

So thank you, all of you, for blessing me with this life - and stay excellent!

P.S. The Sip 'n' Spray Pup Pawtays are back, starting with next Saturday, October 19th, from 2 to 6, right here at Chez Bubin, the Puppy Palace. If you know, you know, and if you need the address, let me know!
