Come explore TAÍNA VIVA, a beautiful new solo show by Afro-Caribbean Dominican artist Navrioska (Navrix) M³ at Governors Island.

It’s an immersive world of color, drawing, sound, movement, and imagination, exploring Taíno-AfroCaribbean roots, memory, spirituality, and belonging.

✨ Oct 17–18 & Oct 24–25
🕚 11 AM–5 PM
📍 House 410A, Colonel’s Row, Governors Island

There are also special performances + an artist talk on Oct 17 & 24.

Weekday showings are also available by request vía the artist Instagram @navrix.

Made a portrait of the tree I can see from my studio window to reset the brain ✨

Using a @behrpaint acrylic underlay and @prismacolor color pencils, wink to @jessieamo for the inspiration to play around with based mix media colors.

If you where wondering which is the piece that I am not sure where it will take me, here it is.

When was the last time that you created something with no sketch, no plan? Just for the love of taking yourself out of your comfort zone?

If you have never or haven’t done it in a while this is a reminder to do so, if you have a brain thirsty with patterns and orders like mine this will help you a lot with neuroplasticity. by @navrix
