Congrats to our Officer Representative, Major Tony Burns, USMC on his promotion June 1st. Maj Burns serves as an engineering instructor at USNA.

As our ORep he consistently pushes us to be better leaders and is our biggest fan. His passion for our team dates back to being an honorary team member as a midshipman. Now, he has been an ORep of a National Championship squad and has enjoyed seeing over a dozen tri mids go to the Marines in three years. Thanks for being our amazing ORep and congrats on the promotion. by @navytri

Feature Friday⚓

By the time LTJG Hannah Walz earned her Navy wings in January, she had already built a reputation for thriving under pressure.

A 2023 U.S. Naval Academy graduate, collegiate national champion triathlete, and now a two-time Armed Forces Triathlon Championship winner, Walz has learned how to navigate two demanding worlds at once, military aviation and elite endurance sports.

Check out the full article with Walz '23 in our May '26 newsletter, link in bio!

One more big CONGRATS to our Women’s National Club Champs. They won the title in Miami in March but got to be recognized in front of the brigade at the Rice football game on Sept 27.

It was great to have our Marine grads 2ndLt Abby Kim and 2ndLt Soleil Xie back to celebrate with us. Team Captain 1/c Isabel Mesa, 2/c Jordann Swearingen, 2/c Amanda Ballard, and 3/c Onna Hermann all got to the field and took their laurels. Thanks to Capt Tony Burns, USMC our loyal and proud Officer Rep for always being there to support. taken in Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium by @navytri

Last but certainly not least, we have our wine enthusiast, zelda fanatic, turtle lover, weather predictor, trident scholar, Mageezer! Michael Magee hails from Manlius, New York and joined the team his youngster year after training his vocal cords with Glee Club. While excelling in biking and running, his inner singer is still there. This would have been hard to believe until nationals when he sang the national anthem for us all. Aside from that, Mike’s academy career has also been very impressive. This past week, it was topped off by his recognition as a Trident Scholar! Upon commissioning Michael will serve as a Navy Pilot, enjoy that endless sunshine and best of luck in the sky! by @navytri

Soleil Xie hails from Bellevue Washington, joining the team her second class year after transferring over from Navy Spirit. While she may have had a late start to triathlon, you would have no idea after seeing her triple podium finishes at nationals. Soleil served the team as our resident Fun Boss. No matter the day, hour or location if there was an activity to be done, she would ensure maximum fun was had. Despite suffering from serious laugh attacks, she excels in both triathlon and academics. Whether it’s velociraptor noises, or uncontrollable cackles, you will know when she’s coming down the hallway. Upon commissioning, Soleil will serve as a Marine Corps officer. Congratulations and best of luck! by @navytri
