I wouldn’t consider myself to be an emotional person by any means, but how could I not be when talking about my best friend? I’ve had Marley since he was a newborn. I was 6 years old at the time, I am now 21. 15 years of having a companion, a brother, given that I was raised as an only child. I was all he knew; I was his entire world, and that feeling is reciprocated.

It’s never easy losing someone, person or pet. I wish I could’ve saw you one last time before you peacefully passed, but I know you tried your hardest to wait for me to come home from college. Thank you for my childhood, and thank you for growth into adulthood. Although we couldn’t talk to one another, I felt like we always understood each other (hopefully that’s not crazy).

Rest in peace, Marley. I hope you knew you were surrounded by a family that loved you immensely. I’ll see you soon bud.
