Happy 5 year anniversary of #kidlitartpostcard ! 🎉

When I was a kid I loved to play outdoors with my little sister, occasionally messing around in my abuelo’s planting fields and earning ourselves a ride in his wheelbarrow back home 🌽 As an adult, I still enjoy spending time in nature, allowing those memories to reach me like a sunbath with earth beneath my feet.

Nature has always surrounded me since childhood, and this curiosity an appreciation for it is something I like to portray in my work. Drawing kids playing, exploring and expressing themselves is one of my favorite things to do as a kidlit illustrator.

As a teenager, I practiced competitive swimming. While illustrating this piece, it was impossible not to feel nostalgic. What an adrenaline rush those relays were!🏆🏊🏻‍♀️
