I’m Naz. I’m 51. I’m fit, I’m funny, and I’m finally in my flow.

@nazflowz is a space for women — especially women 50+ — who are done waiting for permission to take up space in wellness, fitness, and life.

I spent years on the sidelines.
A cervical spine surgery in 2011.
Nerve damage.
A body others wanted to put in a box.
100 pounds.
Menopause.
High blood pressure.
Type 2 diabetes.

And then I decided to find out what my body could still do.�
800+ Pilates classes later, I’m competing in HYROX and becoming a certified Pilates instructor.

Flow is physical. Flow is mental. Flow is life.

I made this dress over 6 years ago and never wore it. Not once.
It stayed hanging on a mannequin in my house for probably over a year while people asked, “Who’s the dress for?”

And I’d laugh and say, “Oh, just something I made to be creative… testing my skills.”

But the truth was… I made it for me.
For a future version of me.
A smaller version of me.
A “one day” version of me.

So I waited.
And waited.
And missed years I could’ve spent feeling beautiful in something I created with my own hands.

Wearing it now feels amazing. I felt confident, feminine, proud, and honestly fabulous. But the biggest realization wasn’t that I finally fit the dress…

It’s that I probably would’ve looked beautiful in it back then too — if I had just made it for the body I already had instead of the body I was hoping to earn.

That hit me hard.

How many moments do we postpone waiting to become “better”?
Smaller.
More successful.
More healed.
More ready.

Meanwhile life is happening right now.

Wear the dress.
Take the picture.
Go to the event.
Celebrate yourself in the current chapter — not just the future one.

I made this years ago and it’s still one of my favorites. 🥹

It makes me feel girly, pretty, and a little extra, and it has POCKETS. 🤣 Women love pockets… even when we’re not using them.

Flutter sleeves. Tie-back. Wide leg. Zero apology.

Feeling pretty is part of the flow too. Move. Glow. Grow. Flow.

Everyone will tell you 52 is about letting go. I’m not going to tell you that. 🖤

Today I’m 52, and this year taught me something different than the “release everything” narrative everyone’s leaning into right now.

It’s not about letting go. It’s about capacity — knowing what belongs in your bedrock (the people, the practices, the things that were there from the start) and what was only ever meant to move through you for a season.

Water doesn’t rush the ancient parts. Neither should you.

Holding my people closer this year. Letting the rest flow like it was always going to.

Confession: I don’t watch Love Island. Never have. Couldn’t tell you a single islander’s name. 😅

But when @dallasgirliesxo throws a “Wellness Villa” themed night with a caviar flight AND chicken wings on the same menu — an unexpected pairing that somehow just worked — plus mocktails from @drinkwildwonder and a Pilates class taught by @jestsetpilatesprestonhollow in a @softgirlathleisure set, I don’t need to know the show to know that’s my kind of villa.

Caviar by @caviereco , wings by @greenerpastureschicken — genuinely didn’t know I needed both in one hand, but here we are.

The whole night happened inside a gorgeous new construction build by @thecyruscollection , a Black-owned builder doing incredible work right here in Dallas. If you know, you know — the space alone was worth the trip.

Best part of the night wasn’t even on the itinerary: connected with three beautiful women who get it — the glow, the grind, the “we still got it” energy. 💫 @weddingkake @np_tera @delsunshine77 — so glad our paths crossed.

Did I bounce before the season finale watch party for a show I’ve never watched? Absolutely. Zero regrets.
