Investing in research has transformed breast cancer outcomes but until nobody dies from breast cancer, our work isn't done. 🩷

While research has helped reduce Australia’s breast cancer death rate by more than 40 per cent over the past three decades, nine people in Australia still die from the disease every day.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we commissioned consumer research that reveals a gap between people’s awareness and understanding of the impact of breast cancer. While most people recognise that breast cancer remains a significant health issue, many people underestimate its ongoing impact.

Encouragingly, Australians overwhelmingly recognise the critical role research plays in improving breast cancer outcomes, with nine in ten agreeing continued investment in breast cancer research is very or extremely important.

Behind every breast cancer death is a person whose future was cut short, leaving a story unfinished. Research gives more people the chance to finish their story.

💗 What a day. What a community. What an impact.

Hundreds of passionate supporters came together for the 19th annual Pink Ribbon Cup Raceday, united by a shared goal: funding life-saving breast cancer research.

Thanks to the incredible dedication of Robyn, the committee, volunteers, sponsors, partners and everyone who attended, this remarkable event has already raised more than $200,000 for breast cancer research this year, with fundraising still continuing.

For 19 years, the Pink Ribbon Cup has brought people together to make a difference, and year after year, this community continues to show the power of collective action.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, @lskd is once again turning pink in support of @nbcfaus 💗

Now in its sixth year of partnership, the LSKD community has helped raise more than $330,000 to support world-class breast cancer research. This October, they are continuing that impact with their biggest Breast Cancer Awareness Collection yet, with a percentage of proceeds from the collection donated directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

A meaningful highlight of this year’s collection is LSKD’s first ever mastectomy sports bra, created as part of a range featuring more than 45 limited-edition styles and accessories, including vibrant pink colourways, custom ombre prints and the message “We Rise By Lifting Others." 🎀

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Australia, which is why being breast aware matters. 💗

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a timely reminder to check in with your body and know what's normal for you.

Being breast aware is about noticing any changes in your breasts during everyday moments like showering, getting dressed or looking in the mirror.

Keep an eye out for changes such as:
• A new lump, swelling or thickened area
• Changes in breast size, shape or appearance
• Dimpling, redness or changes to the skin
• Nipple changes or unexpected discharge
• Swelling or discomfort in the armpit or near the collarbone
• Persistent, unusual breast or nipple pain

Most changes aren't breast cancer, but if something feels different, speaking to your GP or a healthcare professional can bring reassurance or early support if needed. 🎀
